My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Your perfect Saturday: a lazy morning snuggle with your rescue pup, a short stroll around the neighborhood, a tasty little treat, and some more relaxation time after that.
Your perfect dog: Buddy Davey! Keep reading to learn why!

We think Buddy is a Pittie, Patterdale Terrier mix (a pitterpatter, if you will!) He is a rescue, and a bit of a mystery mutt at that, so these are simply our best guesses. We estimate Buddy Davey’s age to be around 1 year old. He weighs in at just 28 pounds, perfectly pick-up-able.

Fall in love with Davey here: https://youtu.be/F3VjGYRjiHc?feature=shared

The first thing to love about Buddy Davey is the way he greets every person he meets. This guy is all excitement and love meeting new people, but he’s not too pushy about it, never a bother. It’s just love, plain and simple! He gives kisses quickly and doesn’t mind being pet or picked up by new people. He’s so tolerant- while we haven’t seen him with kids just yet, we think he would be a great family dog for a home with kids seven and up.

Buddy is a mellow guy. He enjoys snuggles in bed, and perching his front paws on your lap for attention. With all of the space, playful vibes, treats and toys at the rescue- Buddy never got too excited. He’s just an easy going guy, he’ll be an easy pup to take out and about on adventures. He’s really good on leash already too, not pulling, but trotting alongside you with his short little legs, looking up and checking in from time to time.

Buddy is a total house dog type, too. He was so happy to finally be indoors at the rescue, and immediately began exploring. He loved all of the soft and cozy spots to hang out. We could totally see him as an office dog, with a comfy little bed under your desk.

Buddy Davey is dog friendly and is currently fostered in a home with a wide variety of dogs all of different sizes and personalities. He is even fostered with a grumpy 12 lb terrier and Buddy is a total gentleman around him. He happily co-exits and hangouts out with all of the dogs in the home and is happy to do his own thing, respecting the space of all the dogs around him. Buddy is happy to share affection with all of his foster dog siblings and when he's ready for some alone time, he'll mosey on over to his kennel and snuggle him self on his dog bed. In a home, Buddy would be best placed with a dog that has the same speed and tempo as him. Cool, calm and collected. He also would great as your one and only as well. He doesn't need the company of other dogs to keep him entertained or make him feel comfortable in a home. He has no issues making him self feel right at home and showering you with all the love. He's the definition of people's dog.

Another thing to love about Buddy? He’s pretty smart! This guy loves treats, and he loves to learn. His food-motivation will make him an enjoyable and rewarding dog to train.

Buddy is ready for his happily ever after. We think he would be happiest in a house with lots of room to explore and places to sneak off to for a quick nap. He would love to be an only dog, but could coexist with other dogs. We do not recommend Davey for a home with kitties, he was a little too interested meeting our house cat. We are willing to test Buddy with anything you need us to in order to ensure he is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
