My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zagnut: Your New Favorite Sweet & Nutty Sidekick!

Hey there, I’m Zagnut! Just like the candy bar, I’m a little nutty, a whole lot of sweet, and totally underrated. But trust me—you need me in your life. I’m looking for a forever (or foster) home where I can be my goofy, playful, lovable self.

Why You Should Take a Bite Out of Life with Me:
✔️ Dog-friendly – I love making new four-legged friends!
✔️ Potentially cat-friendly – With a little training, I promise to respect their tiny, mysterious ways.
✔️ Kid-approved – I’m friendly, playful, and ready for all the belly rubs!
✔️ House training in progress – I’m getting the hang of this whole “going outside” thing. Potty pads are my current backup plan.
✔️ Playtime professional – Running, wrestling, zoomies, and toy hoarding are just a few of my specialties.
✔️ Leash skills in progress – Right now, I walk like I just discovered my own feet, but I’ll get there!
✔️ Training included! – One free week of training through GoodPup to help me become the best version of myself.

My Only (Totally Manageable) Quirks:
❌ Puppy socialization class recommended – Apparently, "running wild" isn’t a marketable skill?
❌ Likely medium to high energy – If you want a lazy dog, I might not be your guy… but if you want a fun, playful best friend with a built-in entertainment system, I’m the pup for you!

So, what do you think? Are you ready for a little extra sweetness and just the right amount of nuttiness in your life? Fill out a foster or adoption application today, and let’s make it official! 🐾🍫💕

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Barron County is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter serving Barron County and surrounding areas.

Established in 1978 by a small but dedicated group of core volunteers, the HSBC started out with these volunteers taking animals into their own homes and advertising the need for forever homes for these animals. Over the years, since this humble beginning the HSBC has grown into the organization that it is today. From the homes of volunteers, relying on fundraising and the generous donations of our community, we have grown into and remain in our home on Guy Avenue in Barron.

HSBC is operated by a small staff and relies heavily on volunteers, as well as funds from donations, adoptions, memberships and fundraisers to keep our doors open for the animals needing our assistance.

We sincerely thank you for making this possible.
