Meet JD, a charming kiddo who may be a little wary of strangers at first, but once he gets to know you, he’ll be all about the love! JD's trust might take a little time to earn, but once you’ve passed his sniff test, he’ll be by your side, eagerly seeking out some gentle scratches and head rubs. In fact, once he feels comfortable, he’ll start throwing his body against your limbs, clearly asking for pets and attention. It’s his way of saying, "Hey, I trust you, now give me some love!" JD is a bit of a character— His unique way of showing affection is his way of making sure you know that he’s ready to connect. Could JD be the sweet, quirky cat you’ve been waiting for? I am bonded with my friend Gus, we would need to go home together.

The first step to adopting a cat or dog from Animal Friends Alliance is to fill out an adoption questionnaire. You can do this online!

The next step is to pick out a cat or dog! Check out our adoptable cats and adoptable dogs for pictures and short descriptions or come into the shelter at our Taft Hill campus. We also have adoptable cats at many offsite locations.

Note: not all available cats and dogs reside at our campuses. Some are at off-site adoption partners or in foster homes. If you are interested in a particular cat or dog, please call our shelter at (970) 484-8516 to find out about their current status and location.

We do not ship animals. You are required to come and meet your new addition prior to adoption so that we can ensure a good match.

Please note that we will make a copy of the adopters’ State ID card, Driver’s License or passport at the time of adoption.

Our spay/neuter clinic performs surgeries on both cats & dogs, and we also offer low-cost vaccination clinics every week.

Our organization's goal is to do everything in our power to prevent euthanasia due to 'homelessness'.
