Meet Rookie – The Sweetest, Derpiest Couch Potato!

Rookie is the ultimate blend of chill and charm! This lovable pup was sadly surrendered to a kill shelter when his owner could no longer afford to keep him, but he’s now ready to find a forever home where he’ll be cherished.

Rookie is a low-mid energy, happy-go-lucky boy who loves nothing more than lounging on the couch and snuggling up with his favorite humans. But don’t let his couch potato ways fool you—he still enjoys playing fetch in the yard and carrying around his beloved stuffies. He’s got a great personality and a hilarious derpy side that will keep you entertained!

This sweet boy is also potty trained, knows "sit" and understands "no sir", making him an easygoing companion. Plus, he doesn’t need to be kenneled when left home alone—he’s a well-mannered pup who just wants to be part of the family. And with his treat motivation, he’s always happy to learn new things!

Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc.).

Our adoption fee is $350 plus health certificate ($50) and transport (possibly up to $200). This adoption fee includes all current basic vaccinations, deworming, microchip (with lifetime registration), fecal analysis, neuter, and a heartworm test. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.

After an applicant has been screened, we conduct a home visit, vet reference check and personal reference checks. If the applicant is approved, we schedule a meet and greet.
