My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Koda! This handsome 6-month-old, 37-pound Doberman/Belgian Shepherd mix is as sweet as he is smart. Found abandoned on the Greenway trail, Koda is now looking for a forever home where he can thrive.

Koda absolutely loves everyone he meets and gets along great with other dogs. He’s also learning to respect cats in his foster home. A total cuddlebug, he will happily curl up in your lap if you let him! He’s making great progress with house and crate training, walks well on a leash, and has already mastered a few commands.

Quick to learn and eager to please, Koda would be the perfect match for an active family ready to help him grow into the best version of himself. If you’re searching for a loyal best friend and adventure buddy, Koda is your guy!

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.

Adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, health certificate and transportation.

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
