My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trophy is a 2 yr old 81 pound fluffy shepherd that came to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 3/12 as a stray. He’s a real sweetheart with a mischievous bent. Let me explain: the first thing he did when he met me was try to to get into my smock pocket to sneak a treat. He’s highly motivated by treats. He sits for them before you even ask him to, and then after he takes his treat he’ll sit again hoping for another reward. When dogs are highly motivated by treats they’re usually easy to train. He joyfully trotted around the yard. He appeared to be very happy and in some of the photos even seems to be smiling. He’s enthusiastic, friendly, and active. It just seems like he’s having fun. He did his business in the yard. He wagged his tail meeting other dogs. He walks well on a leash. He’s what we call a GENTLE GIANT! And believe it or not he’s a lapdog wannabe. This big teddy bear will need a yard to stretch his legs in but wants to enjoy being close to his family in the house.
