Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Arlo is a neutered, 100% Australian shepherd (did the embark dna test), fully updated on vaccines including rabies within last couple months.
Have had Arlo since September 2024 via shelter, & he’s such a great, loving dog. Estimated 2 years old.
He is crate and potty trained (of course will need some time to adjust to a new home/routine), and gets along well with other dogs.
However he does have some reactivity to other dogs where he will pull on the leash and bark until corrected walking by other dogs. He has definitely gotten better and he did well with a trainer that we had for a couple weeks.
The reason we want to rehome Mr Arlo is because I’m due with my first baby in July, and I already have a high energy dog in a small apartment. W/ the two of them separate its much calmer, but they definitely rile each other up and I worry about having a newborn with all that large dog energy.
This is a really hard decision and I will only rehome Arlo if I know he’s going to a better situation
