My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email the adoption counselor: lisastern.tr@gmail.com    and request an adoption application.

Dog's Name:  Barkley (BAR0325BCAMN)

Estimated Breed:  Schnauzer Mix

Approximate Age:  3 years

Approximate Weight:  15 pounds

Currently Living at:  Foster

Adoption Fee:  $400

DOG'S DESCRIPTION:

Looking for a furry companion who will bring joy, loyalty, and endless love into your home? Barkley is the one for you! This cute bearded guy is ready to find his forever family. Here’s a little about him:

Personality: Barkley is sweet, outgoing and friendly - and likes other dogs! Despite his name, he does not appear to be a big barker, but like all terriers, he will use his voice..

Training & Behavior: Crate trained, may need a refresher in housetraining. Barkley likes to greet people by jumping up, so he does need some training on proper "Good boy" behavior.

Health & Wellness: Up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and neutered.

Perfect Home: Any willing to give him love and attention! However, Barkley is higher energy and would benefit from a decent amount of exercise.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee.

More about this rescue

The Hatton Animal Rescue Foundation was founded by Gary and Annette Hatton who saw a great gap in our society when it comes to the care and support of special needs animals and seniors. These animals are the ones most left behind and typically deemed un-salvageable or un-adoptable due to their medical conditions and age.

We foster many different types of animals with special needs and/or disabilities in the hopes that they will one day be adopted into a loving home. If one cannot be found, we provide the comfort, care and forever home they need.

Due to the nature of farm animals being more challenging to adopt out, these special guys typically become our permanent residents!

Our amazing team of volunteers are committed to helping animals in our community. We take our convictions and turn them into action.
