Jack was a Sheriff's impound that was released to rescue in December of 2010. We thought he was on his way home, but the nice couple who came to look at him were sadly missing a different terrier. Jack was adopted in early 2011, but then returned in October because he kept leaving the yard and wandering around town. He will need a home with a securely fenced yard.
A young adult (about 2 years old), Jack is still very energetic and needs a family that will have lots of time to spend with him. He is good with other dogs, kids, and people in general, a little too enthusiastically curious about horses, and unfortunately, he does want to chase cats. Since he's been in my home, he has improved dramatically about cats, but I doubt he could resist giving chase if one were to run away. In true terrier fashion, anything that runs must be pursued.
Jack is well house-trained, and surprisingly calm in the house, preferring to curl up in the recliner with Annie, a chihuahua who is also being fostered here (but is bound for a home in Seattle in mid-January). He is very smart and willing to please; I think he would be an excellent choice for an agility dog or jogging companion. He does an adorable tap-dance while waiting for a treat, we will try to post a video of it. He walks well on the leash (but doesn't always stay close or return when called if walked off-leash), is also kennel-trained, and rides calmly in the car (indeed, car rides may be his second favorite activity, after eating.)
The picture of 2 terriers above is Jack and Jessie-Jessie's been adopted, but Jack is still looking for a family. He is neutered and current on all his vaccinations, and is quite ready to find a permanent home, so please help him on his way!!
