Story
Gnarles (Gnarly) Male flame point siamese mix Estimated DOB 02/2023 Medical: Because he is FIV positive, he needs a low stress environment, quality food, exams at least yearly, and proactive veterinary care to ensure he stays healthy. Because he has a compromised immune kid system, he'e not the type of cat that you try the "wait it out" approach if he's sick. Although FIV cats can be more prone to certain medical diseases, they more often than not live completely normal lives compared to their counterparts. As medicine has advanced, we now know that having FIV is not at all a death sentence like it had been treated as previously. These cats live comparable lives to non FIV positive cats and deserve a home and love all the same. We highly recommend finding a veterinarian who is comfortable with and knowledgable about FIV. Depending on their clients, FIV may not be something that every veterinarian sees regularly in their practice, so it can be daunting and they may not be familiar with the most recent guidelines for FIV cats and how they can live normal and healthy lives. You can leatn more about FIV through the American Association of Feline Practitioners' Feline Retrovirus Management Guidelines or from the Feline Veterinary Medicine Association's website and brochures such as this one! https://catvets.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/FelineVMA_FeLV-and-FIV-Broch_Web.2.pdf All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age approriate vaccines (rabies and distemper), microchipped, given flea/tick prevention and dewormer, FIV/FeLV tested, and any other veterinary care that is needed prior to adoption. Location: Gnarles is currently in foster. He loves to hang out on the cat tree and watch birds, snooze in cozy spots, and as is seen in the pictures, is always rubbing us and getting pets. He’s a talker and enjoys human company. He is a little shy at first but is full of affection. He has a wound on his head, the reason a community member reached out for help for him. It is healing nicely and we expect him to make a full recovery from this. If you are interested in adopting, fill out an application online at www.figandfriendspetrescue.org/adopt

Story
**Bonded pair with brother Ambrose. They must be adopted together** Elliot Male Lynx point siamese mix DOB 9/16/23 Elliot can be shy at first, but he is a very sweet boy who enjoys sitting on your lap and cuddling once he gets comfortable. He is very talkative and will have conversations with you. He likes to spend a lot of time with his brother Ambrose especially cuddling up next to him. Ambrose is more timid than Elliot and hasn't quite come out of his shell yet, but Elliot is always by his side helping him with his confidence. We still haven't gotten to see their full personalities yet as they have only been in foster for a week, but their previous owner had nothing but amazing things to say about this duo! Due to medical reasons, their previous owner had to surrender these two so she could focus on regaining her own health. It was an incredibly hard decision for her, but we assured her that these guys would find an amazing home. They need someone who will be patient with them and understand that sometimes it takes a little bit of time for a pet to warm up to you and for them to find their own groove again. Medical: All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age approriate vaccines (rabies and distemper), microchipped, given flea/tick prevention and dewormer, FIV/FeLV tested, and any other veterinary care that is needed prior to adoption.
