Story
Ginny is a beautiful medium sized shiba inu mix who originally came to us from the reservation.  She was adopted to a couple who returned her when they had a baby.  It sounded like the new parents and Ginny were all struggling to adapt to a big life change.  Since her return, we have witnessed how deeply attached she gets to humans in her life so it's very possible that she could be protective of those relationships and hesitant to share that attention with children.  Therefore, we would want future adopters to be very mindful of this and cautiously introduce her to kids. Ginny was heartbroken after losing her family but has slowly come out of her shell.  She is an active girl who loves long walks and would enjoy a fenced yard for outdoor play.  She entertains herself playing with her toys or chewing on bones.  She is highly intelligent and has mastered the commands "sit", "paw" and "down".  She is food motivated and eager to please.   Ginny rides well in a car so if you want to go site-seeing she's up for the adventure.  After a long day of play, she would love to curl up in your lap and watch movies.  Ginny is an amazing dog and she's looking for a new beginning and deserves a loving, patient, committed family.  If you want to meet this precious furbaby please contact Town and Country Animal Rescue. The adoption fee is $350 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only during the social distancing stage of quarantine.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to email@townandcountryhumanesociety.org. Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit.
