Gentle with kids Nova needs to be the only dog mostly she was deprived of attention and wants it all! She was also so over bred this is common. She will be the perfect companion and anyone who takes her in is the luckiest on earth! Even her Foster’s say so! She is in foster with a little girl and is perfect! She is so very gentle! She was used for breeding and dumped. Was in rough condition but with love and medication-mostly love bounced right back to the sweetness she is! Age: 6 years. Weight: 60 lbs Temperament: Great with kids. Prefers to be the only pet. Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, HW negative.   Training: crate trained, house trained  For questions, please email loramyers51@yahoo.com    To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
We are seniors and adopted peanut and piglet ( daughter and mother) from a shelter near Chattanooga TN in 3/23 after our dog passed of old age and illness in 2/23. We had planned to adopt a poodle but she turned out to have serious biting issues. We love the girls but they were untrained and can’t deal with other dogs though they are good with our 5 year old granddaughter. We can’t train them we did get them vaccinated and spayed and microchipped. After several applications for her mother we have decided that we can’t separate the girls. Check out her mom piglet’s profile

Story
Sueno's sweetness is the stuff of legends, but he has to get to know you first. Look at those eyes, friends. Seriously, has ANYBODY* EVER looked at us like that? (*reevaluating life choices and considering 4th doggo.) This vertically-challenged unicorn is just a smooth operator. Sueno was made for the laidback life. He's a player and yet also a napper, and proof the two can happily coexist inside the body of a brindle lowrider. Can we all just look in Sueno's eyes again? Look at all that love. Are you getting dizzy with all the feels yet? Look again. How about now? We need to sit down. Please fan us. Sueno has big dreams of life's simplest pleasures. It's like a slow motion movie that plays inside his head, White Diamonds style. The two of you taking a walk in the park. Fade to you throwing the tennis ball. Dissolve to a tight shot of you giving him a belly rub. Now, you're running together across a field of daisies, the sun is setting off in the distance. Your pockets are filled with treats, which are spilling out before Sueno. Can you please come get Sueno and make all this happen, because we really, really want to see this good boy get his happy-ever-after. Fill out an adoption application, and we'll make the magic happen.

Story
Sully was an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is a full-blooded Bassett Hound, 10 years old, but has the personality of a younger dog. He still runs, plays and keeps an eye out for something to chase. His favorite foods are watermelon, carrots, and anything with cheese sprinkled over the top. However, no blueberries!Sully is fully vetted; with a 3 year rabies vaccination. Sully has had all annuals recently done and on monthly preventatives. He weighs 62 pounds and has a perfect Bassett stance and typical wide front paws.Once Sully determines you are safe he becomes a Velcro dog. He loves being told he is a good boy because he is a very good boy. Knows commands and does mostly obey; house broken, easy walking on a leash, and loves to ride in the car. Sully prefers a quiet home with no children and would be best if he is the only dog. He sleeps all night on his bed and is just a delight to be around. His adoption fee is $150.00.~~If you are interested in this animal, you can complete the questionnaire found on the available pets page of our website http://hbpr.org. Story
LOOKING FOR A NICE CALM FAMILY:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 23 lbs.    Hi, I’m Tabitha!  I came from a situation where there were just too many dogs in a home, and we needed some help.  Thankfully, Mostly Mutts was able to answer the call for assistance and I was able to spend a month in a great foster home learning and getting used to a stable environment!  Now I’m at the MM facility learning even more and I’m ready to find my very own family to love and be loved by!    • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came in with other dogs that I liked, however as I’ve gained a little confidence, we learned that I should not live with other dogs as I want the toys and dog beds just for myself.  I will guard my items and have growled and snapped when I think another dog is too close, so I should be your only dog, please.  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids close up yet, but on a couple of instances I have become very stressed when I see them playing from a distance, so a home without kids or perhaps mature kids 15 and older would be best and let’s meet. This includes kids that may come into my home to visit, such as grandkids, etc. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m back at the MM facility now, but here’s what my 1-month foster reported about me:  My fosters knew just what to do when I went home with them to make me feel comfortable. Initially they were quiet and just let me think and make sense of my new space and they only engaged with me when I initiated, which made me feel very safe. The first 3 days, I just wanted to stay in a nice dog bed in the living room (of course they took me out to potty and spent time in the room too), but by the end of day 3 I started venturing around the home. It is a smaller type of home which I personally like.  By the evening of day 4, I wanted to sleep in the same room as my fosters and on day 6, I was comfortable venturing into the other various rooms within the 1 story home without having them in sight. I’ve been here a few weeks now and I like being petted, tummy rubs, little kisses on the head, nestling up to them and laying on them!  I respond very well to positive reinforcement and the best thing is that I wag my tail now when I see my foster! They gave me time and patience to figure things out and I’ve come a long way and am transforming into a more confident pup. / My energy level is currently 4 – 6.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and can't wait to learn lots of new skills with my trainer! When I was in a foster home, I walked well on a leash and looked back to my foster for reassurance.  When I encounter something new, my foster would let me stand and watch for a while so I can make sense of it and then we continue on our way.  I’ve embraced being a Beagle by enjoying all the sniffs on my walks.  I’m sure you can teach me lots more. / In the foster home I didn’t like being in a crate and could break out of it, which can be dangerous to me, so my foster gates me in my favorite room when they left, and I did very well with that. / My foster didn’t have a yard, so we went out on a leash to potty, and I did well with that!  I think I only had one initial accident but have done well on the schedule they have me on – so, yay me! • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love soft dog beds with supportive edges that I can rest my head on. I have a newfound love of Benebones and soft squeaky toys, and once I’m comfortable with my people, I greatly enjoy being with them!  Food and treats are a good way to help me trust you as I sure like them. And I like it when you talk to me with a "dog voice" -lol / I don’t want to be rushed into new relationships or situations, so give me some time and space to figure things out please.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training.     • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. If you’re a Beagle loving family and have extra time to help me settle in, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    August 20, 2024, 6:44 am
