Story
I adopted Salem from the Humane Society of Springfield in 2018. He was approximately five years old at the time. He is very attached, and does have some separation anxiety. He loves to cuddle, and he loves chewing on stuffed bones. He also loves walks, of course! He is aggressive to other dogs at first when I am present, but does fine around other dogs at doggie daycare. He generally does fine with cats. He does not do well with kids. He can be intimidating when guests arrive, because he has a big bark. But if the guest gives him treats, he settles right in to be affectionate with them. He has been through good, canine citizen training twice, but cannot pass the separation anxiety portion. He is very food, made it motivated and eager for affection. He would do best in a home where someone is home and sitting a lot, and he could cuddle with them. Or someone willing to take him everywhere with them. He does exhibit marking behaviors in a home with other male dogs.
