Story
Gordy is a Basset/Shepherd mix male, about 1 year of age. Gordy loves to play outside. He is so sweet and learning to be a house dog. He loves the safety of his crate and pet bed. He has not displayed any food aggression. Gordy is good with all the other dogs in his foster home and even eats out of the bowl with the littles. Gordy was once very timid and scared, but he is slowly coming around in his foster home. Foster family has a cat that Gordy is very curious about but will only chase her if she runs. Gordy is still learning to trust humans so he will need time to settle in and be a perfect part of your family. He is doing very well on a leash.

Story
6-Week-Old Basset With Hair Growing From Her Eyes! Margi's case is one of the strangest and most heartbreaking ones we've seen. After consulting with an ophthalmologist, we received Margie's diagnosis. Margi was born with an extremely rare condition that's resulted in hair growing directly from her corneas. It's called ocular dermoid and it's basically when a misplaced patch of hair skin grows on the surface of the eyeball. Doctors have no idea what causes it and there is still very little known about the condition but we've been told that it IS treatable. Removing dermoids is tricky business when they are on regular areas on the body. The fact that this is happening on her eye makes this all the more complicated. Surgery needs to be done with an operating microscope to carefully remove the dermoid without causing any damage to the issue of her eye underneath. The doctors aren't sure how deep the dermoid is placed so she may need a graft done in order to stabilize her eye afterward. Her vision may always be compromised. Right now, she has trouble seeing out of that eye which leaves her very confused and frightened. We won't know if this is permanent until surgery is done and she is recovering after. We are prepping her now for the big procedure as well as catching her up on all the wellness care she needs. We will keep you all updated but ask that you please consider sending her a donation today to help show her that she is worth this second chance. Thank you.
