Meet Oscar! Oscar is a super handsome, 3.5 year old mixed breed boy - full size dog, mini legs..black and white and cute as a button! Oscar is a little love bug. He wants you too himself! Oscar should be an only pet. Loves walks, playing in yard, snack time, dinner time, being petted, brushed and meeting new people! House trained and crate trained. Oscar is healthy, current on shots, neutered & microchipped. Oscar is a really good boy, not a big barker and would love nothing more than to be your lap dog. Oscar does have a high prey drive. He’s been known to bring his catch in the house to you (mice, bird, etc). He would do best with children 10 & up and he does not like anyone around his food when he eats.

My name is Ruby and I am a 9 year old sharpei/basset hound mix who was a local owner surrender.  My owner's mother became ill and she had to leave to take care of her, so that left left me looking for another home. I was rehomed once by my former mom and also taken to the shelter for them to help me find a home but both times I was returned because I can be picky and fearful. Then Tri-State took me in and now I live with a very special foster family. I have some medical issues where I have horrible reactions to vaccines, its a medical disorder that causes my jaw to lock shut. It was a very scary experience.   Other than that I am very healthy. I am able to be around other dogs if watched, but I would prefer to be an only dog.  I only get close to certain people, however they still need to be cautious around me - after all I am mixed with Sharpei.   Dogs like Ruby are hard to adopt out but we will continue to look for her perfect fit and take care of all that she needs until that person comes along. Reason for rehoming: Our living circumstances have changed dramatically and we believe that our dogs would be happier in a different environment than what they have now. Ideally, we would love to see our dogs adopted into a home that has a nice backyard to run and sniff around in. Where did you originally get the dog from? Dorchester Paws Animal Shelter Breed: Hound mix. Best guess: Beagle+tree-walker/coon hound Age: 9/10 (Best guess based on teeth) Behavioral  issues? Knows and follows many commands, but can be stubborn about doing them immediately. Medical issues? No Good traits? Great at walking off leash and staying close. Never barks unless told the “speak” command with a treat or when playing with another dog as a “you went too far” warning. Any training? Just the basics. Sit, stay, down, bed, spin, release, speak, come, out, eat, leave it. Never allowed on furniture or to jump up on visitors.
