Meet Bosam! She is the sweetest most adorable girll! She is a 8 month old that was rescued from a breeding farm before heading to a dog meat farm in South Korea.  We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable.  Many of these dogs start off in horiffic puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth.  If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away.  Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat.   Many restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South  Korea,  and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men.    Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions.  The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade.  Bosam and some of her family and friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life.  These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.  Our adoption fee is $600 which helps offset some of the flight costs.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application form at  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app January 13, 2025, 6:14 pm

Where are your dogs going if you pass away??? Well, Pepper’s past owner died and when he was found by someone he was understandably distraught. He nipped the person but didn’t cause any damage. Then he was taken away by animal control which added to the stress and confusion. You lost everything in an instant and end up at a loud, scary, overcrowded animal shelter! Pepper is safe with a loving foster. He is house trained, good with other dogs his speed and size, good with dog savvy kids and he’s extremely grateful to be out of the scary shelter. No health issues. Mature, easy going dude. Would probably be fine as the only dog too.

They are both Beagle mix, weigh about 23 lbs and about 13 months. They need some basic training as far as potty training in the backyard. They are very friendly with people and other dogs. I was hit by a car and then dumped at a high-kill shelter, left all alone and scared. But I never gave up hope, and when BFP heard my story, they jumped in to save me! Now that I'm healthy and healed, I'm ready to share all my love with a family who will cherish me. I may have a funny little walk (thanks to my past injury), but it doesn't slow me down one bit-I still want nothing more than to be by your side. I'm a total cuddle bug, always eager to snuggle and soak up affection. I love neck and ear scratches, and if you rub my belly, I'll roll right over to enjoy every moment! I'm also a bit of a talker. If I see a cat, squirrel, or even a stranger, I'll give a little howl to make sure you know I'm keeping an eye on things.
