Story
Meet Riley Beagle lovers!!!! Have we got the Pal for you! Riley here is a 13 year old sweetheart who is hoping to find a wonderful retirement home. He would love to go for walks with you, and snuggle up on the couch with you! Despite his age his Beagle nose works just fine, and he likes to use it! Not an absolute requirement for him, but he would love a fenced yard to meander about in, searching out alllllllllll the scents! Riley, again in typical Beagle fashion, does have a prey drive and will chase cats. So, if you have any of those we might want to talk to you about a different dog lol. Riley is in excellent health for his age and just had a great checkup with senior bloodwork and everything! That said, he was diagnosed with seizures long ago, and is on a daily (inexpensive) medication to keep those away. It works, because he hasn't had any in we don't even know how long! So, if you're looking for a sweet little buddy who is dog friendly and loveable, please submit an application and we'll be in touch! https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/GARP/DogVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 13, 2025, 10:25 am

Story
Skips is a five year old beagle with the traditional loud beagle howl. He follows his nose everywhere and so he would be best placed in a house with a yard. He does tend to be fearful and timid, but can be won over with lots of treats. Once you've earned his trust you can look forward to the best of cuddles. We're really looking to place Skips and Marty (the husky in the picture) together in the same home, but if we have to split them up, Skips would be best placed in a home with another smaller dog. It may take time to adjust, so we're looking for something transitional where we don't just drop him off and say goodbye. We truly want him to grow and love his new family. So if it takes a few weeks that's ok! We're also ok with an open adoption! haha Would love to see pics of him from time to time living his best life in his new home. ✔ Housetrained ✔ Knows commands "sit" "come" & "kennel up"

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. Hi, I'm Angel! I'm a sweet, loving girl who knows how to keep things fun - I'm all about fetch (throw that ball, and I'll be there in a flash) and playing with toys. Seriously, I've got a collection that I'll happily share with you... as long as you're ready to toss them around! When it comes to manners, I'm a total gem. I walk politely on a leash, no pulling or tugging - I'm more about enjoying the stroll and taking in the sights. I also have great interactions with kids, so if you have little ones, we'll get along just fine. I'm a pro at crate time, and I've got potty skills that are on point - no accidents here! I've also learned some basic commands, so I'm ready to impress you with my smarts. Whether we're playing, cuddling, or just hanging out, I'm your girl. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate, and well-mannered companion, I'd love to be your Angel! Let's make some amazing memories together! Knows sit, down, up, paw, stay (for 20 seconds). Sits when harness and leash are going to be put on. Sits while removing harness. Age: 1 year, 4 months Weight: 53 lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs, not kid or cat tested but probably fine with older sturdy kids. Training: Housetrained, crate trained, knows commands Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions:     adoptangel28@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.February 25, 2025, 8:05 am

Story
Gage is a tiny little bundle of joy who is either wide open or snoozing !  He loves playing with his toys and defintely has his favorites that he will bring to you. He is very much a velcro dog and a cuddler, with a silly personality.   Gage will need a home where someone is around a large majority of the day. He is doing well on his housetraining but does need to go out very often and can be slow to do his business ( there are lots of distractions out in the big world :) ) .  He loves other dogs and is even learning to be ok with the foster's chickens !   Our ideal home will have another dog to be his play friend and his pillow for naps, a mom or dad that is home most of the day, and someone that understands how much of a little baby he is.  A very secure yard is required as he is lightning fast and scared easily.     Gage was taken to animal control after the members of his household were involved in a shootout and several people died.  Poor little guy must have been frightened, so he hid in a closet until the nice policemen found him.    He did not have a great start to life but we will make sure the rest of his life is full of toys and bones and love.    ##2261758##

Story
Doxy is a 9 year old, 17 pound, Beagle/Doxy mix. He was returned to AAU because his adopter was going into a senior living situation. He is a very sweet little dog. He does bark a lot, so he can not live in an apartment or condo. He is house trained, but he’s on Lasix (a fluid pill) for his heart condition. He can only be left for a few hours or so, depending on the time you gave the medication.    Speaking of his heart condition, Doxy does have rather advanced heart disease. He is on 2 other heart medications besides the Lasix. And I’ll add to his being left, that he has separation anxiety. He needs a home with another sweet dog. I would not crate him. I do have 2 personal dogs and I give them and Doxy the run of the house when I leave.    Doxy also has urinary crystals and must be on a special diet. Finally, he has Gallbladder disease for which he must take medication. Summing it up, he will be on a special diet and medication for the rest of his life. He would do best with a fenced yard because of his medication.   I know he sounds like a train wreck, but he’s a very good dog. He loves everyone and other dogs. He is not a fan of cats. Doxy is very attached to his people and smart! He picked up our routine quickly. He enjoys watching TV on the sofa.    Doxy is also a good watch dog. He spends much of his day “lounging”. He loves, loves, loves his evening leash walks. Honestly, you would never know he had any health issues when you meet him. I am retired and have a busy life. Doxy’s health issues have not interfered with my lifestyle. He has only added love to our household! An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online at http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue. Doxy is a sweet and loving 9-year-old Beagle/Dachshund mix weighing in at 17 pounds. This charming little guy adores everyone he meets and gets along well with other dogs, though cats aren’t quite his cup of tea. What makes Doxy special:   Doxy has some medical needs, so he’s looking for a dedicated and compassionate -person to provide him with the care he deserves. He’ll need to stay on a special diet to prevent urinary crystals and will require lifelong medications for his heart and gallbladder. Despite these challenges, Doxy is full of life and love! His perfect home: --A fenced yard where he can easily go out.  He's potty trained but prefers going out every 4 - 5 hours. --A stay-at-home parent or someone with a flexible schedule to keep him company and help with his separation anxiety. Having another sweet dog in the home helps him feel secure, too! --A peaceful setting, as Doxy’s barky moments may not suit apartment or condo living.   What Doxy loves: --Evening leash walks—his absolute favorite activity! --Lounging during the day and snuggling on the sofa to watch TV with his family. --Being involved in family routines, as he’s a smart boy who quickly adapts to new schedules.   Though he’s a great watchdog and has some special needs, Doxy doesn’t let his medical issues slow him down. His foster mom, a busy retiree, says he has only brought love and joy into her home. Doxy is looking for someone as special as he is—someone who will give him the love and care he needs to thrive.          January 15, 2025, 8:10 pm
