Story
Hey I’m Gail! I'm a very pretty beagle mix currently available for adoption. First introductions are not a strength of mine but once I settle in and have a minute to get to know you I am the sweetest little thing you’ll ever meet. I am kennel trained and working on potty training. I just get really excited!  I love to play with my foster humans and their dogs, and even their cat! My ideal home would have a fenced yard for me to romp around in and another dog for me to play with. I’m an introvert at heart and am looking for a home ready to love me as hard as I’ll love them.  Gail is about 8.5 months old and 30lbs.   To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $200 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs.  We do not ship dogs.   All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.August 18, 2024, 9:02 pm

Story
This is Riley, a young Beagle/Pug mix (b. 3/13/23) and she is looking for a new place!  Riley is a sweetie and just a little shy.  She just needs time to warm up to people - treats and belly rubs will help!  :)  Riley is looking for someone that can be patient with her while she is learning to trust and build a relationship with her person! She is learning how to catch treats in her mouth.  She does okay with kids and cats, but should be in a house without young kids for now while she is learning manners (age 12+).  She doesn't chew on things except for her dog bones.  She is kennel trained and sleeps in her kennel overnight.  Sometimes she just needs a little gentle coaxing to go in.  She will usually go right in if foster mom puts a leash on her and guides her in.  Riley is a little picky with food, but still eats most everything.  She loves to be pet and she will decide when you are done petting her! Riley is potty trained and has been fine when left outside of her kennel for a couple hours once she has adjusted to her new environment.  The ideal home would have a fenced yard because she loves to run and loves to be outside!  Riley enjoys lounging and watching the neighbors while she's outside.  No issues with her jumping a 4 foot fence.  Riley is a cuddle bug and likes to sleep under blankets.  She also loves car rides!!  Apply today to adopt this snuggle bug! The suggested adoption donation for Riley is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2078698##

Story
This is Kya, a young Beagle/Pug mix (b. 3/13/23) and she needs a home!  Kya loves all the good things in life - cuddles, treats and car rides!  Did we mention treats?!  She loves to eat and is not picky at all.  Kya is energetic and enjoys being active.  She needs slow introductions to people, but is easy to win over with treats and belly rubs.  She gets very excited when she first sees you, but is quick to calm down.  She loves to have you throw treats so she can catch them in her mouth.  She also loves her toys and will find a favorite stuffie to carry around with her.   Kya needs an alkatraz kennel because she can magically squeeze between the bars of a regular wire kennel  She hasn't been destructive when she has gotten out, she just wants to lay on the couch or bed.  She sleeps in her kennel overnight and will bark if she wants a toy, water, food or a potty break.  She goes to her kennel willingly for a treat.  Kya is confident and puts on a big act of "I'm the boss and you can't come in" when it's time to open her kennel door.  Once she realizes you bring freedom (and cookies), and after she gets her initial bounces and zooms out, she's happy to be petted and loved.  And she will be the one to decide when you are done petting her!  :) Kya is potty trained will go to the door when she wants to be let outside. Kya is working on manners right now and even though she is friendly with kids, she would probably be better in a home with older kids (age 13+).  She is also good with cats.  Kya has been fine if left outside of her kennel for a couple hours by herself once she has adjusted to her new environment.  The ideal home would have a fenced yard because she loves to run and LOVES to be outside!  No issues with her jumping a 4 foot fence.  Kya is a cuddle bug and likes to sleep under blankets.  She also loves car rides!! Story
Nova is also such a good girl - she is calm, follows you around, and never tries to get into anything. Nova is a little timid around new people, but she warms up quickly & will be glued to your side. Nova would do well with regular walks, but she does love to run as fast as she can in a fenced yard, so we require she go to a home with a fenced yard so she can do her zoomies. Nova will do well with a single person, retired couple, a family with kids who know how to be gentle with her, and she would absolutely love a companion dog as a playmate. Even though she's a little wobbly on the back legs due to a back injury with her previous owner, she gets around well and loves to run and play! She had been attacked by a Great Dane which injured her back, leaving her scared and intimidated by larger dogs. We have been taking her to a veterinary chiropractor for acupuncture and adjustments and she is feeling tons better! We encourage her adopter to continue with that for her to keep her at her best. Nova needs to avoid too many stairs, and prefers floors with traction. Nova is slow to sit, lay, or stand/up on command but does it in her own time then she's off running. She does great with come, kennel, etc.Nova does great in her kennel. When out of the kennel for the day she can go up to four hours between potty breaks, she will go to the door to let you know she needs to potty. She and the resident dog are about the same size and get along great. Nova loves cats and rabbits (per previous owner). Nova and the resident dog have been eating within a few feet of each other with no issues. Nova is happy to share her toys and people! Nova doesn't know many commands, so we're working on the basics. She is food motivated and ready to learn. We hope you will fall in love with our worried-looking, wrinkled-forehead, little princess! Requirements to adopt Nova: *Home with a fenced yard *Active person/family *Another small, playful dog as a companion *A home with little to no stairs for her to navigate Nova is a Beagle mix who was was born approximately 1-6-19 and weighs 20 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed and started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $400 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. If interested in adopting one of our available dogs or puppies, you must first complete an online adoption application at https://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will be contacted by our adoption coordinator via email after your application has been reviewed & approved to schedule an appointment.
