Story

We adopted Melvin as a puppy and quickly loved his personality. Hes very food motivated and loves going on adventures (on a leash) and could wander around sniffing and smelling for hours. Melvin’s second favorite place to be is as close to you as possible, he’s very much a pack dog that loves attention and to be with everyone. He does have separation anxiety when we leave but does well and is safest in a crate. He also is very driven by his nose and needs to be on a leash if outside or he'll take off. Unfortunately, due to having 2 kids under 2 it has been challenging to give Melvin the attention and exercise he needs and he has struggled with having 2 small sets of hands always grabbing at him. I am incredibly sad to need to rehome him and really want to make sure he finds a new home that loves him as much as I do.

This sweet puppy has so much potential and promises to be a devoted companion. He showed up at an overcrowded shelter with an injured eye that could not be saved. It took him some time to adjust to his limited vision, but his foster family has done an amazing job helping him adjust. He still has some learning to do, but he is very food motivated and eager to please. He will eaily sit for a treat and even wait for his food at mealtime. His depth perception is still a little off, but he continues to adjust as time goes on. Wallace loves to play with his doggy pals in foster! He’d love to have a canine brother or sister to learn from (and that likes to share because he seems to always want the toy that another dog has only because they have it). Having a big fenced in backyard would be a bonus, but he is also learning his manners on leash pretty well. Wallace is sweet, friendly, and so much fun!
