Story
Jolene was born around June 24, 2022 and weighs about 20-25 pounds.  Jolene came to us from Kentucky with the one hour at a time volunteer transport team and a very kind overnight foster person.  Everyone along the way adored her as we do now! Jolene did have a home in Kentucky with the town drunk and he tossed her out the front door and said he "wanted her gone".  A kind neighbor called her over and kept her until she could get her into the hands of another kind person and then she, tearfully, loaded her in the first transport car to come here to us.  She is very sweet and affectionate and really loves to be carried (good thing she's little) and snuggled with and have her belly rubbed.  Jolene rides well in the car and LOVES to wrestle, play, run, with other dogs and she does need another fun playmate in her next life and a large enough, physically fenced, safe area in which they can release the energy she has.   She is also a very good swimmer.  This is all we know so far and we will be learning as we go!  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link "Special Instructions to Seller" if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
Rex was born around March 31, 2022 and weighs about 50 pounds.  Rex is with us because his humans gained custody of a special needs child and it was decided that finding Rex a new home was in his (Rex's) best interest.  Rex is wonderful with cats and other dogs and is the sweetest boy ever.   Rex is a teensy bit shy at first but within minutes he is a wiggly, adorable, goof, who wants to snuggle and play.  Rex loves car rides and walks nicely on a leash with some pulling at first.  Rex was purchased from a shady pet store which is now out of business.  They sold Rex as a Collie Shepherd mix but we are struggling with that.  We feel he's more of a Beagle mix of some sort.  He is gorgeous black and white along with rusty red markings that reminds of Bernice Mountain Dogs!  Rex is the kind of dog that will hang with you outside, off leash, while you do your chores or are playing with him - once he is adjusted and knows he lives there.    Rex doesn't mind baths and he is enjoying our pond.  Rex is nicely house trained.  Rex was with a family that raised him from a pup with a special needs child, but the child was causing him physical and mental discomfort.  For this reason Rex would truly prefer an adult only home. Please help us find this home for the adorable Rex!   The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Story
Ace was born about May 28, 2016 and weighs about 43 lbs.  He is an really adorable and HAPPY tri-colored boy that was released to us after his human went into assisted memory care.  We were sent a photo of a small shack with a dirt floor and a hole for him to go outside into a small fenced area and then he got to get out to go rabbit huntin' now and then.  Well, no more and here he is in his foster home all clean warm and cozy with a choice of blankies to cuddle in.  In time we feel he's going to love cuddling with the humans as he just adores us and his tail is constantly in motion whenever we look his way or talk to him.  Speaking of his tail, we were sad to discover that there is a large plum sized mass under the base of his tail and at the top of his rectum.  We have a vet appointment mid March to see if anything can/should be done to this mass.  He quickly learned the dog door and he, and the friend he came here with, were absolutely delighted to have so much yard to meander and sniff!  Ace did well on his car ride here and he seems to do ok on leash.  He is excellent with all the other dogs here small and large, he's never been around cats.  He is a love and we love him already and we know there are humans out there that can show Ace what his life should have always been like and give him all the love that he's missed out on all these years! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_300.00_. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Good with dogs,
Story
Meet little Cali. We were told that Cali and her siblings are beagle/border collie mixes. We aren't so sure about that. Cali is the only one who has the beagle look, but she has very short legs. We think that there could be a little bassett in there or maybe even corgi. Cali is being fostered with her brother, Cameron. They live to play. The run around like crazy and then crash for a bit. Cali can be a little possessive of her person (if sitting on their lap) and nips at and tries to chase away another dog if he/she approaches. She is working hard on house training and leash walking. We highly suggest reading up on her breed and note that she does have some herding instincts which means if you have children, she may nip at their heels. If you are interested in meeting this crazy gal, please submit an application. She will make you smile everyday. All current pets MUST be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason. www.pawzandpurrz.org RR335 Please Note: We are making changes to our Foster to Adopt process. Limited resources to follow up on pending adoptions and delays in processing payments is adding to our financial restrictions. Going forward we will collect payment when the dog is transferred to the potential new owner and will be held for an agreed upon trial time. Exceptions or extended trial times will be considered on a case by case basis and will depend upon the need or situation.
