Lacey is a sweet, female, beagle mix weighing in at 48 lbs. She was surrendered by the owner when we found out she was heartworm positive. She is 5 years old and up to date on shots/vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. We have started her on medication to prepare her for her heartworm injections in about 30 days. PINC pays for these treatments. We are looking for an adopter that has experience with heartworm treatments. Lacey is sweet, laid back, loves to be with her person, and loves other dogs. We follow the American Heartworm Society's heartworm treatment plan and heartworm treatments are administered at Spay Neuter Clinic of the Carolinas. Zuko is a beautiful alpha male hound, about 3 years old with no medical problems. He grew up around young kids and is protective over the house taking time to get to know strangers, he often sleeps with my younger kids at night and likes to curl up with people and is very playful. However he is very aggressive to other dogs and has been getting more aggressive to the other dogs in our house over the past year - which is why he needs to be re-homed. He has anxiety when out of his routine and will take time to accumulate to a new home. No fee, though the kids would like to be able to stay in contact with the new owner and get occasional pictures if possible.

I have been known to be a little rough with smaller dogs so I will need to learn my manners when it comes to playing with smaller dogs. I do enjoy a nice car ride but I have not been leash trained yet so will need to work on my leash manners in my new home. I love to play and because I am still a puppy and can occasionally be mouthy its not recommended I go to a home with very small children unless the grown up are willing to take fully responsibility of keeping everyone safe and being respectful of each other. I am crate trained and sleep through the night and while my foster parents are at work. People said that I was roaming the neighborhood for a while and no one knew who I belonged to. The shelter found Critter Cavalry Rescue to take me and I am looking for a home with a retired man because Critter Cavalry has found that I probably was abused by a woman. I can be nice to them but I don't want to live with them. They intimidate me and I am truly very fond of a man's attention. I am good with other dogs and can hang out with and be best friends forever. I love people and I am friends with every dog and cat that I meet. As you can see, I am a happy girl and they tell me that I'm quite pretty too. No one knows much about me except that I have a sweet smile, a great personality and I love people that let me snuggle with them.
