Story
*Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.* Nita is a 1 year old Beagle mix hoping for a home with lots of treats and people to tell her what a pretty girl she is (she may be just a little vain).  Listed breed and age is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $500 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.   ##1854401##

Story
Lou is a 1 year and 9 months old Beagle. Spayed, microchipped and good with kids. She is very smart and has had intermediate training (many commands down and eager to please) still working on a solid recall off leash, but knows “Here! and Come!”. Her worst traits are chewing and digging, and stealing items for a game of chase, but these are all alleviated if you can stay a few steps ahead of her! She loves plush toys, antlers, rawhide and frozen stuffed kongs. She loves playing in water and mud. She loves baths. She is a super love bug and will cuddle all the time if you let her. She loves other dogs and submits immediately, loves to run and play at the dog park (since we live in the city) She is a really amazing dog! It will break our hearts to rehome her but we want her to have the best life possible because we love her so much! We have a crate and many toys, food, bowls, leash, etc. She is up to date on all shots and vaccines and licensed.

Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Meet Wrigley, the bouncy bundle of joy you've been looking for! This 10-month-old Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog mix is the epitome of happiness with a super bubbly personality and a knack for bringing smiles wherever she goes. Weighing in at 30 pounds, Wrigley is a medium to high-energy pup who loves to play but doesn’t require marathon exercise sessions. However, as a puppy, she does need activities to keep her from turning your shoes into chew toys! Wrigley's favorite pastime? Entertaining herself by hopping like a deer and tossing her toys in the air. She’s an independent spirit who loves her humans and doggy friends, but she’s not clingy. She’s fully housetrained and has settled into home life beautifully, learning her name and improving her house manners quickly. Wrigley loves walks on a leash, and though she’s not had much car experience, she’s ready to explore the world with you. She’s extremely friendly and confident with kids, adults, and other dogs, making her the perfect addition to any family. Wrigley is smart, spunky, and always up for a good time. Whether you're looking for a playmate for your current pets or a solo star, Wrigley will fit right in and brighten your days. Adopt Wrigley and let the fun begin!    Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. July 14, 2024, 9:43 pm

Story
Sweet Willy came from a home where he and 9 other Beagles were chained to garbage cans their entire lives. Taken off the chains only when the owner hunted with them. Willy had the worst situation of them all, his garbage can was so small that her couldn't even stand up in it! His back was so sore when he arrived that it took him a week or so before he could comfortably run and play with the gang. He was chained up like that for 10 YEARS! Willy is the sweetest boy you will ever meet and just needs a home where he can live out his days with lots of love and good care. He is very healthy, heart worm negative, crate trained microchipped and ready for his forever home. Could that be you? Please give him a chance! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $250
