Story
Senior for a Senior that loves walks! Please contact us to submit an application directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com Jelly Bean is a 7 yr old 9 mos and 32 lb Retriever/Beagle mix.  Her mom that had her for 6 years had to leave her behind as she had to go to an assisted living facility in Apr 2023.  Jelly Bean is getting depressed. She has gone to every adoption event on Saturdays and has been overlooked because she is a senior dog.  She loves walks, car rides, bones and destroying stuffed dog toys.  She is house and crate trained. She does require a securely fenced yard since she is part Beagle follows her nose.  Since she lived with her mom for 6 years as an only pet, she prefers to be the only pet (no dogs or cats).  She unconditionally loves her humans and loves her daily walks.  Please adopt this senior active gem.  Pssst a nice person has paid most of her adoption fee.   Courtesay post for Helotes Humane Society. L & S Dog Diggity Rescue is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 800,000 homeless pets. We save homeless and abandoned dogs and find them loving forever homes in other areas, where pet homelessness is not epidemic. All of our pets are located here, in San Antonio, and we partner with rescues to provide transportation for our pets to their new homes. Our adoption fee includes vet care (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchipping, etc), as well as transportation and health certificate. Please contact us to ask about our adoption process and our adoption fees.  November 5, 2024, 6:27 am

Story
Penny is the sweetest most gentle dog ever and very resourceful having been abandoned at a construction site where the workers had been caring for her. She got her name due to the penny-sized brown circle on her forehead. We took her in and have been fostering her until she finds her forever home. She’s not a constant barker but will bark to guard her area as needed. She’s great with other dogs and kids, so very appropriate for families. She’s 29lbs and about 1 year old, spayed and up to date on all shots and chipped.

Story
Gemma is a very sweet and loving dog, she's still young (2 years). She has the typical Beagle and Dachshund behaviors and she gets bored so she needs an experienced adopter especially one familiar with small hunting breeds. She does not do well in the kennel and needs someone to be home during the day or a home without cats where she can be out while she's alone. We did a trial run with one family who had cats and they didn't keep her in the kennel while they were gone and had no issues, however her cats were stressed out so they weren't able to keep her, that's the reason why we're rehoming her, she needs a home without cats and we have a few. If you have any questions let me know!

Story
Meet Mavis, a seven year old Beagle mix weighing 46 pounds. Mavis is a little overweight and would benefit greatly from loosing the extra pounds. She has gotten out a couple times and seems to follow her nose like her breed is known for. When she came in to us she was in a good amount of pain due to some severely overgrown nails along with the extra weight. She walks well on leash, if a bit slowly, and is very sweet just a bit confused as to who we all are and why she is here. Mavis has the sweetest sugar muzzle and gentle eyes. We adore our older pups and hope she finds a home soon that will get her to a healthy weight and stop her wandering tendencies. She did just recently have a dental done and they had to do some extractions. She will most likely need more extractions in the future. She was transferred to us from Yakima Humane Society.

Story
Meet our coolest senior beagle-lab mix, Casey. Casey was originally transported to WA as a puppy with his siblings after being rescued from Georgia. His original adopters recently had twins and Casey was returned to RCR due to (after 8+ years) due to lack of time for him. Casey acts way younger than his 9+years would imply and he is fun and active. Casey is a great size at only 35lbs. Casey is currently being fostered by our trainer Nate Benjamin in Snohomish. He has truly blossomed while living at trainer Nate’s home. Casey has perfected his basic commands and social skills. Casey enjoys walks and easier hikes. He also enjoys road trips, running errands and hanging out with his people. Casey has been good with kids over toddler age but does get nervous around infants, so a home with older kids or no kids, is best for him. Casey is crate-trained and house-trained and not a chewer. He can be trusted out of his crate and quiet in the house- though he will make his presence known if someone comes to the door. Casey is great on a leash and knows his basic commands. He loves people, loves to give kisses and is very approachable and loving! Casey enjoys playing throughout the and/or a daily walk- but is also content soaking up the sun on the deck too. He has not been around cats much so we’re not encouraging kitties. Casey listens and takes correction well/ He’s also very food motivated, so training is a breeze. His adopters will get the advantage of trainer Nate Benjamin’s skills and he has totally set Casey up to succeed. Ideally his new adopter is someone who likes having a companion with them when they venture out of the house and who wants an exercise and life buddy. Casey is fine with other dogs and has gotten a lot of socialization at the Digg It Dogg home. He is not much of a doggie play partner and is also fine by himself. He is so affectionate and loving and enjoys being groomed and wearing his many coats. Casey is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. His is currently with his foster Nate Benjamin of Digg It Dog training in Snohomish and Nate would love to introduce you! Casey is such a good boy and he deserves a great home. For more information, contact Pam at raincityrescue@gmail.com or to complete an application. You just have to meet this awesome boy and trainer Nate! Both will win your heart!
