Story
was brought to us by one of our previous adopters, after their owner suddenly passed away. She was found in the home, protecting her owner for an unknown length of time before someone realized her owner had passed away. She showed loyalty to her first dad, and is now ready to share her love and loyalty with another family. Emma is a super sweet and loving little gal who loves playing with toys. She has been in foster care, and is doing wonderfully with all the animals on the property. Emma is a sure to steal your heart! All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at sftsrescue.org/adoptableanimals

Story
Meet Hazel! Are you seeking just the right blend of fun and cuddles? Search no more! Miss Hazel, here is a senior lady, but she’s playful and curious and engaged…which makes us think she’s perfect! Hazel loves attention and will ask politely to be lifted onto the couch or bed. If you talk to her but don’t lift her, she’ll bark just to be sure that you understand what’s going on here. She wants to be wherever you are, but her short little legs and loooong body make jumping difficult. Luckily, she's just a small 22 pounds. She settles right in for a nap after playtime or a walk, and will sleep as long as you will at night, curled up in the bend of your knee. She has not had any accidents in the house, but her foster takes her out after she sleeps and after playtime. Hazel plays a little rough and likes to trade toys with you rather than just give them up, so perhaps older children would be the best fit. She gets along well with other dogs, and she likes her walks, but let’s keep them shorter, please. Those little legs work hard to get her down the lane! She settles into the car once she finds her comfy spot and will watch the world go by through the window or enjoy a chew stick while you chauffeur her around town. Hazel prefers not to be left alone and will show her displeasure by barking for a few minutes after the door closes, so apartment living may not be her jam. She will rest quietly after a few minutes and await your return, which she will celebrate with wiggles and smiles, and happy little grunts! Hazel could live with a cat that would stand their ground with her, but its best if she doesn’t live with them, as she really enjoy chasing them when they move. If you want a sweet, curious, playful dog who just wants to be your best friend, Hazel is the gal for you! *Hazel is being fostered in Fredonia, WI. Story
Petey-Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle/mixed breed-male-neutered- 1 year. Meet Petey! Petey came to us as a surrender because he doesn't share resources with other dogs so we are seeking a home where he can be the only dog. He does interact with other dogs and is playful but if resources are involved, Petey believes they all belong to him, and he becomes possessive. He can also be possessive of bones with humans, so we are looking for a child-free, adult only home for him. Petey is housetrained and does well with being crated when left alone. He enjoys going for walks and on adventures with his people. Petey knows a couple of commands too! His blue eyes really stand out against his blue/tan/white fur. Petey would do really well and bond with his owners in training classes to build a good foundation with him. Petey likes to play fetch and will drop the ball to have it thrown again! If you have the right home for Petey, consider applying at www.cchswi.org DATCP License #266742-DS
