Story
Henry and Raaz are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They were bonded as puppies and rely on each other for emotional stability. I got them two years ago and Henry is 6 turning 7 soon on April 4th. Raaz is 7. They are very kind dogs who are moderately trained with tricks, going to their crates independently and giving space when needed. Henry is the goofball of the two. While he is a bit of a doofus, he is such a lover boy. His favorite things are playing with the laser, getting pets and chicken fat as a special treat. Raaz is a grumpy old lady with a heart of gold. She shows her young spirit when playing ball or laser and she loves Beggin for Bacon dog treats (or even better, real bacon). There has been some family medical issues and I am no longer able to home or take care of them properly. They will come with their crates that they recognize as their room and I will provide half a months food that goes with their diet. They both love a sprinkler in the summer as well

Story
6yo, 40lb Hobbs is a sweet little guy. He was a rescue that has done well in our household for years until the recent arrival of our baby. The transition has not gone well and he deserves to have a home where he can receive the love and attention he needs. He does well with routine and a job to do, fetch is his favorite, has no prey drive, crated at night but will sleep whether door is open or closed, walks well on a leash, indifferent to other dogs in passing, house trained but needs structure. Very smart, very trainable. Would not do well in a home with babies/toddlers Important - Experience with working dogs will serve you well - the maintenance of these types of breeds is unlike most others and it is important that negative reinforcement to control behavior is not used.

She weighed in at 42 lbs and pretty much hairless. Iris spent the last 6 months getting healthy.Iris was on a very strict diet to help her gain weight in healthy increments with some crate rest. Her foster family has spent a lot of time helping her learn to be a loved dog and live her best healthy life. Story
Pepperoni was part of a litter of eight puppies rescued several months ago. He was adopted together with one of his siblings, but circumstances have changed and Pepperoni is in need of a new forever home! He is crate-trained, housebroken, neutered, and has been through a beginner obedience class. Their mom says he is a quick learner, very obedient, and likes to track things. That tracking includes chasing cats, so Pepperoni needs a home with no cats or other small pets. He likes kids but can knock down smaller children while he is loving them. Apply to adopt Pepperoni at ricopetrecovery.org. Adoption fee is $250.

Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Columbus, Akron, or Cincinnati Ohio. Rooster resides with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. You may also find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/houstonshaggydogrescue

Dino has now been placed in a loving foster home and is learning to play wonderful with the foster’s big dogs and puppies that are fostering with him half his size. Story
Meet DIXIE! 🐾 This adorable girl is just the perfect package!! Dixie found herself, through no fault of her own, in a rural shelter that keep most of their pups outside under tarps and with hay in the winter. One look at that face and we scooped her right up. We were shocked to find out how sweet, loving and gentle this adorable doll was. This amazing girl just loves life and hanging out with her people and dog buddies. She is the first to welcome you home and last to leave your side. She has the perfect energy one is looking for in a dog. Dixie is approximately 5 months and practically out of all those time consuming puppy stages. 💖 Personality: Goofy, playful and energetic. Dixie has a wonderful temperament and gets along great with her foster mates. She is super smart and a fast learner. She will be up for learning any new tricks you might want to throw her way. She is fostering in a home in Memphis, TN and her foster mom would love to tell you all about her. Dixie is going to be great family companion and she is ready to be your new best friend! If you’re ready to give DIXIE a lifetime of belly rubs, treats, and a cozy bed, please reach out! Let’s find this sweet pup the forever home she soooo deserves. 🐶💕 Once adopted she will travel via the Rescue Transport to her new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185.
