Story
Beautiful Nicky had a hard early life - roaming the streets in South Carolina.  Happily he was found and taken to the shelter where he received great care.  During his wanderings he seems to have suffered an injury to his front leg, which luckily does not cause him pain.  Despite this tough beginning, he has the happiest disposition a dog could have.  He just LOVES people.  He looks to the person walking him for guidance and reassurance.  He is SUPER smart and knows sit, wait, and let's go.  He learns quickly and wants to please. He will quickly bond with his special human(s) and be easy to train. He is also a snuggler!  He loves to snuggle into your lap and get belly rubs.   Nicky is a mixed breed, probably with some Shepherd.  He initially seemed to get along well with all dogs and love to play, but more recently has displayed some dog selectivity.  When introduced properly we think he will enjoy having a doggie friend but he would also be fine as an only dog. During a short term foster he did very well in the crate at night and had no accidents in the house.   He always wanted to be near people and got along well with is foster brother even though he was wearing a cone.  Nicky has energy.  He would be a great dog to take hiking or to play fetch in the back yard.  He LOVES to play with toys and will entertain himself pretty independently.   He would make a great addition to any family.  He is sick of being in the kennel and would love to find a home with people who would pet and snuggle him.  Do you have room in your life for a sweet furry companion?
