Story
Meet Token~ With having his world turned up side down, Token is doing his best. First being dumped and ending up on the streets, then being brought to a big noisy shelter by animal control, this sweet boy deserves better! In the shelter he was nervous and skittish, never mean or aggressive. He is now fostered in a home, and has already loosed up! He is sweet and calm, and really loves his people! Token seems pretty easy going and interested in doing whatever his humans are doing. At this point, he does not seem to be a high energy dog at all, and actually seems to have a very average energy level..not the energy level said to be of other Malinios breed dogs. Only a week out of the shelter, Token is still unsure of things and seems to lack confidence. We have noticed him do some resource guarding. So, we are looking for an adult only home for Token. His future adopters need to have some training/experience with these kinds of issues. Token is very smart, and seems to want to please. He is also very food motivated which is good! Helping Token build up his confidence, and getting him where he needs to be mentally and behaviorally will be something so very rewarding! He is definitely worth the effort, as he is a really good boy! Token is very smart, and is already potty trained. He sits, lays, and gives paw on command. Token is fine with other dogs, but could probably care less if lived with any! *The adoption fee is $450.00 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, leash and collar, ProHeart 12 (adults), and the mandatory CT HB 5368 exam. BREED IDENTIFICATION: Please understand that many rescue dogs are mixes of multiple breeds. Petfinder allows us to choose up to two breeds per dog. While the shelters and our rescue do our best in accurately identifying breeds, breed identification is not guaranteed. If there is a certain breed that you do not want, it is very important that you share this with our rescue when applying. When adopting a puppy, breed uncertainty plays a big part in the size/look of the dog as an adult. Please know that any puppy can be a wonderful dog, regardless of preconceived notions of certain breeds, but it is very important that the adopter has the dedication and patience to raise the puppy with boundaries, consistency, structure, & love. The more effort you give towards training & time you allow for exercise, your puppy will grow to be a HUGE source of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, TOTAL LOYALTY, HAPPINESS, COMFORT & COMPANIONSHIP! ABOUT OUR RESCUE: We are a small rescue run by volunteers & focused on finding the right match for both our dogs & for you. If you are interested in adopting through our rescue, you first will need to complete an adoption application & be approved as a potential adopter before meeting any of our pups. No need to be intimidated by our application as it allows us to get to know you & your lifestyle. Of course, the more you can share the better! Please also note, while a fenced yard is fantastic, it is not required by our rescue, however, it may be required for a certain dog occasionally. Once adoption applicants are approved to become potential adopters, we offer private appointments where you can meet one or several dogs at the discretion of the rescue. We offer a unique & pleasant experience focused on finding the perfect match. It is extremely important to us that everyone is treated with respect & that NO ONE IS LEFT HANGING. WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU WITHIN 2 TO 3 DAYS of application submission. If there is a dog you are eager to meet, please TEXT US DIRECTLY at 203-241-2351 so that we can check the status of your application and move it forward immediately. We look forward to hearing from you and helping you find your new best friend. *All adult dogs can be cat tested by request. HOME/RENTER INSURANCE: SOME PROVIDERS HAVE VERY STRICT POLICIES REGARDING WHICH TYPE OF DOG BREE

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.3/22/25 Update- Maud is still available. She is still living w/ the elderly lady who took her and her littermates in. This picture of Maud is not current, so she's grown since this photo was taken. We will try to get new pictures soon.  10/21 Zora, Maud, Klaus, Lars,  Edda, and Petra were born to a stray dog who has been staying in the same area for several years. This is her 4th litter. People in the neighborhood feed her, but no one can seem to catch her to have her spayed. We didn't find out about this situation until last week, when we were contacted by an 86 year old lady who is the one taking care of these pups. The mama dog brought these pups up to her house when they were only a few weeks old, and Ms. Fontaine has been trying to find a rescue to help with them since then. Unfortunately, all rescues in our area are overwhelmed and no one was able to help her. I went over to meet and vaccinate the pups last week. They are 5 months old. They are very scared and timid. Ms. Fontaine is able to pet all of them and even allows them in her house. They love her, and she loves them, but we are all afraid with her age, these pups are creating a fall risk for her. They do not jump on her, but wec are worried about her tripping over them. We would love to move them to other rescues if anyone knows a rescue who could take 1 or 2. They are also available for adoption, but adopters will need to be aware that they will definitely be a project. They will take a long time to gain confidence and build trust. They are NOT aggressive at all. I was able to give them all shots with not even a growl from any of them. They just hide and tremble. I do believe they have potential to be good pets, but it is going to require a lot of patience and work.  If anyone is interested in giving one of these pups a  let us know. We are working on getting them all fixed so they wont continue adding to the population. We will also continue efforts to trap the mama dog so we can stop the steady flow of pups.  We are all so overwhelmed. And it is next to impossible to find homes for dogs like these. Spayed/neutered UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and started on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.  Please consider giving one of these babies a good home. They will be so loyal and loving. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Story
Meet Ranger, the intelligent and active Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and boundless energy. This handsome boy is a fast learner and has mastered essential commands like sit, down, wait, and shake. He's so clever that he tackled a level 3 puzzle on his first try! Ranger is a well-behaved and well-trained pup, making him a pleasure to have around the house. He's house trained, crate trained, and shows no signs of destructiveness indoors. However, he does experience some separation anxiety when his human leaves the house, which is why he's kept in his crate during errands. But don't worry, when he's playing in the backyard with his furry friend, he's perfectly content and doesn't exhibit any separation anxiety. Ranger is an active boy who loves going on walks, and he'll gladly accompany you on all your outdoor adventures. While Ranger is intelligent and affectionate, he can be barrier reactive, meaning he may react when he encounters certain barriers or boundaries. Patience and positive reinforcement training can help him overcome this behavior. This is very typical behavior for both breeds and he absolutely has to be adopted into a Mali/GSD knowledgeable family/ Ranger was in pretty rough shape when rescued and the vet initially thought he had an intestinal disease. Nothing was definitively diagnosed but the vet believes he has small intestinal issues. He is on a folate vitamin daily and will just need annual lab work and a high quality RAW FOOD diet. Ranger's charm and charisma shine through in the photos and videos provided, capturing his playful and loving nature. If you're looking for a smart, active, and affectionate companion, Ranger is the perfect match. Give him the love and care he deserves, and he'll reward you with loyalty and companionship like no other. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
