Story
This handsome Belgian Malinois mix is Jackson! He arrived at the shelter as a lost boy on 2/11, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. Jackson is keeping his paws crossed for a new forever home where he will be loved and kept safe so that he never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers describe Jackson as friendly and easygoing. He is a smart cookie too and already knows several commands including sit, stay, and down. Belgian Malinois are a working breed of dog and he'll need proper physical and mental stimulation. Please ensure you have the time and energy to commit to Jackson before adopting. Jackson is approximately 2 years old and weighs 53 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines and neutered; he will be microchipped upon adoption. Unfortunately, Jackson tested positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care, he can go on to live a long and healthy life. Please speak with shelter staff about the option of fostering to adopt while he receives treatment. Jackson is waiting patiently in run 835; his ID # is 8066. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Story
This beautiful lady is Maya! She ended up at the shelter with her sister/bestie on 3/15. Their owner left both girls with a friend which was supposed to be temporary, but they never returned. The friend did say that they are both good with kids, cats, and other dogs. The volunteers describe both girls as friendly, confident, and intelligent. They know several commands including sit, down, and stay. Since they are still quite young they have a lot of energy and love to play. They'll need an active family who can keep up with them! Shepherds are a working breed so they need to be physically and mentally engaged each day. They're an amazing duo, but can be adopted separately if need be. If you have room in your heart and home for these lovely girls, please come meet them! Maya is approximately 1 year old and weighs 51 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, has been microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms. She will be spayed upon adoption. Maya is waiting patiently in run 60; her ID # is 8755.
