Sable, a loving and confident five-year-old Belgian Malinois looking for a knowledgeable owner who understands her breed. Sable is a people-lover through and through, always seeking attention and affection from those around her. She came in as a momma dog, had 11 (!!!) puppies and is now looking for a home of her own. She is friendly towards strangers and walks well past other dogs when out and about. Her enthusiasm sometimes shows through in her greetings—she may jump up to show how happy she is to see you, but she takes corrections well and will listen when you tell her down. She’s also crate trained and will obey when you tell her to get in without whining. Sable's ideal home includes a backyard where she can roam, and she'll appreciate high fences to keep her safe and secure. She would do great in a home with a calm and easy going dog since she has a tendency to get overwhelmed with high energy. She would also be fine as the only pet in the home! A home without cats and smaller dogs is would be great for Sable. Since she can get excited meeting people, a house with older kids or no kids would be best! MEET LOVEY! This girl is as sweet as her name! Lovey is a 1-1/2-year-old brindle Belgian Malinois in need of a foster or forever home! She weighs only 43 lbs. Lovey was rescued from a high-kill California shelter in the nick of time. She is a bit shy but loves people, and she's good with other dogs. She's just an all-around sweetheart who would do well with an active person or people who can take her for walks or hikes. Please email for an application.

This black beauty is Sombra, which means “shadow” in Spanish. We called her that because of her coloring, but she soon lived up to her name, following us all around the house just wanting to be near. She is around 3 years old and 66 lbs currently Sombra was found with a rusty chain around her neck, that had been caught on a tree stump out in the county. She had escaped being chained up and neglected in someone’s yard only to be trapped again… there was no question as to what we had to do - we brought her home, cleaned her up and cared for her. She is healthy and honing her social skills. She is a true social butterfly and has never met a stranger. She loves people and gets so excited when she meets someone new, male or female. Sombra lives with 3 other dogs (two blue heelers and a chihuahua) plus two cats. Sombra would do best with a dog friendly cat, as she wants to play with them and can chase to instigate play. Sombra has also spent time making friends at doggy day care and weekend boarding. She is loyal, smart, and charmingly stubborn! Sombra can still be anxious in new places or at the vet so will need a family with patience to help her build confidence in her new environment! She also lives with two small children, ages 3 & 5, and Sombra loves their cuddles and attention. She is respectful of their size and space, and will lay with them or let them lay with her and squish on her face. Sombra loves her daily walks, usually two separate laps a day around the neighborhood. She loves to chew her soft squeakers, rip apart her stuffed animals and wander the yard for “snacks”. But her favorite thing is just being near you. As said, she lives up to being a sombra, a shadow. She will lay by you in your office as you work from home, she’ll follow you around as your do laundry and dishes, she’ll lay on the floor/couch/bed as you watch a movie. Sombra would do best with someone home throughout the day because she loves her people so much! She would do best in a home with a family who wants to do training, agility, or a fun dog sport with her. She loves to use her mind. She can be vocal so no apartments for this girl. Sombra is going to make a great companion for someone and/or their family. She would be good with other dogs, confident cats or kids. Meet Mia – a sweet and gentle girl with a heart full of love! Mia is confused as to why she is surrendered and misses her family, but quickly warms up to new acquaintances and settles down after getting to know them. Mia enjoys playing with toys and is open to having a buddy for more fun. She may be dog-selective, so a meet and greet is required. While she knows various commands and has a good recall, some exercises are needed to help her shed a few extra pounds.
