Approximate age / Weight: 1.5 yrs old and 50 lbs. Personality: Looking to upgrade your health routine with a personal trainer who also moonlights as a cuddle buddy? Meet Arnold! This energetic 1.5-year-old, 50-pound bundle of joy is not just any dog; he’s your new wellness coach. Arnold will have you marching on long walks, sharing your snacks (yes, he’s got his eyes on those extra calories), and snuggling up to ensure you don’t sneak away for a midnight snack. Think of him as your fitness guru with a side of fluff. Arnold came to Waggin’ Tails from Detroit Animal Control in the summer of 2023, and though he had a rough start with an injury that required hip replacement surgery, he’s bounced back like the champ he is. Now, he’s all about living life to the fullest—fetching, playing, and probably eyeing your workout gear with a “Let’s go!” look. He may not be the best fit for dog parks or daycare, especially if you’re a male husky, but he’s a charmer with lady dogs and always respects their personal space. Arnold is a water-loving dynamo, so if you’re into swimming, he’s your guy. Looking for a high-energy companion who’ll keep you on your toes (and off the couch)? Arnold is adaptable to various home environments, as long as he gets his share of exercise and mental stimulation. If you’re up for the challenge of keeping up with this lively pup, he’s ready to keep pace with you and make your life a whole lot more fun. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://us14b.sheltermanager.com/onlineform_view?formid=46) completely. Story
This is Sam, he is a loving energetic dog who is eager to please. We got him as a pup from a Malinois breeder in Howell, Michigan. He did well crate training and adjusting to the new home that already had a young doodle. At 6 months old we enrolled Sam into a 3wk board and train with Glass City Canine. That certification comes with lifetime transferable resources through GCC. With our young family growing, we have a toddler & a baby, we aren’t able to provide the attention Sam needs. We’re not just looking for a good home, but the right home for Sam. Sam is very obedient and is rather calm for his breed and age. He does get very excited but settles down quickly. He’s loves tug a’ war, chasing a tennis ball, & chewing on his toys. He was not and is not a CHEWER or destructive. He is VERY affectionate. If interested in Sam you can email hank367209@gmail.com with any questions

Story
Meet Agnes, the Best Friend You've Been Waiting For! Hey there, potential paw-rents! My name is Agnes and I am one cuddly, pretty, and striking German Shepherd. Don't let my tough exterior fool you, I am just a big ball of love waiting to find my forever home. At 2 years old, I have already mastered the chill and laid back lifestyle. Forget those high-energy pups, I am the ultimate couch potato and would love nothing more than to snuggle up with you on the couch and watch some Netflix (yes, I am a dog who loves TV). As a female, I am definitely a girl's best friend. I am happy and loyal, always wagging my tail and giving lots of kisses. Need a shoulder to cry on? I got you covered. Need a workout buddy? Well, maybe not so much. Now, let's talk about my sociability. I may be a one and only kind of gal, meaning I prefer to be the only animal in the household. But trust me, I will provide you with more love and companionship than you could ever ask for. So what do you say? Are you ready to invite me into your heart and home? Come meet me and see for yourself how truly amazing I am. Adoption applications are open and I am waiting patiently for my perfect match. Don't keep me waiting for too long, I am ready to be your best friend forever.
