Story
Meet Agent of Chaos !! This boy had a very rough start to life for sure but he’s already put it all behind him and is ready for his new life. He’s the sweetest and smartest pup. Please read the entire post as this breed is not for everyone. Agent of Chaos is an approx 7 month old Belgian Malinois mix. He was severely neglected the first few months of his life and is a bit stunted in growth due to that. He currently only weighs 23 pounds. He may stay a “mini” size or could hit a growth spurt. We just don’t know. He has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines. He’s also been heartworm tested and is negative. He is on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Agent of Chaos came to us through another great rescuer who took him in when he was extremely malnourished, tiny in size and his front legs were bowed out and twisted due to lack of nutrition. She nursed him back to health and sent him over to us to find his perfect home. He is doing so well now. He loves everyone and everything. He is so happy and full of life. He’s an awesome companion. He will sit and cuddle with you and then when his feet hit the floor he’s wide open ready to go. He loves all adventures, exercise, toys and playtime. Anything fun and active he’s up for it. His favorite thing is tug o war. He loves fetch, games of chase, toys, bones and treats. Interactive or puzzle toys would be great for him. Agent of chaos loves to play with other dogs. He’s loved every dog he’s met and would be great with an active companion to run the yard with. He has had a little bit of interaction with cats so far. He’s curious but not aggressive. He tries to play with them but respected a few kitty paw swats and left them alone. He’s been a good boy with kids so far HOWEVER this breed is highly excitable and can be a lot for smaller kids. They tend to jump up on, knock over and chew on hands etc. Chaos has been pretty good so far but he is headed into his adolescence stage and you could see these behaviors increase or develop. As always, training is key for a dog like this. Agent of Chaos is a fantastic car riding companion. He’s great on short and long trips and is very well behaved in the car. He’s mostly potty trained and learned the back door bells at his foster home in one day. He has a few accidents if not let out enough but he’s doing really well. He’s crate trained and does well but is scared for you to take him out. If you open the door and walk away he comes right out on his own. He will bark if left in to long, especially if you haven’t given him proper exercise before putting him in there. He’s not terrible with leash walking but often times thinks the leash is a tug o war game. We’ve been working on this with him but he will need continued work on that. He’s had no trouble sharing food, treats or toys with other dogs or humans. He does eat very fast and needs a slow feeder bowl. Due to him not having food previously we can understand why he eats that way. Agent of Chaos had stunted growth and twisted legs when he was taken in. They are looking so much better but the vet does recommend to go easy on jumping or high impact activities until he is fully grown. This is to ensure his bones and legs have time to build up strength and fully heal from the neglect he suffered. This breed of dog is a high energy working dog breed. They are also highly intelligent. This means if you are not exercising this dog a lot each a day, to include tons of mental stimulation, they are going to get frustrated and will be able to outsmart you. This breed of dog is capable of learning dozens of commands and tricks if trained properly. She would excel at anything active such as agility, luring, search and rescue etc. You can not let this breed of dog get bored or pent up with energy. They have been known to scale the sides of fences, climb trees, dig massive holes and oh yeah, they are typically those police dogs you see doing absolutely crazy things. If you are not 100% prepared for that you will not enjoy owning this breed. He needs to be kept busy and given lots of mentally challenging activities every single day. With that said he does have a calm chill and cuddly side if given the right amount of exercise. We know there are a lot of warnings about this puppy but we assure you it is all meant to find him the best home for his needs. We also want to make sure the adopters get a dog they can manage. He will be the most amazing dog in the proper setting. ➡️Vet and home checks required. ➡️ 6ft or higher fenced yard required ➡️No townhomes or Apartments Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message us directly at VillageDogResource@gmail.com with questions or to get an application.
