Story
*German Shepherd or similar breed experience is REQUIRED!* Meet our very handsome and regal boy named Roman! Roman is about 3.5 years old and he came to our shelter after he was found roaming in town. When Roman first came in, he was quite skinny and had very over grown nails, as you can see in the photos. His nails have since been cut and he is gaining weight. He currently weighs about 65 lbs, but he can still gain some weight. Roman is very treat motivated and will listen very well if treats are involved. We believe Roman will be very loyal to his owner and he will bond closely with them. He has been very friendly with all of our staff and the staff at the vet office. Roman likes tennis balls and toys, but he doesn't have a huge drive for them. He does have a prey drive though, so we are looking for a home without cats or small animals for him. Roman can go to a home with children 13 years old and older. Roman has shown to be good with other dogs. *We are requiring any potential adopters to have experience owning German Shepherds or similar breeds of dog!* If you are interested in adopting Roman, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! His adoption fee is $75.00. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME. For more info please call 203-235-4179 (Always Leave A Message) or email adopt@savingpawsct.org

Story
***German Shepherd or similar breed experience required.***Name: KCBreed: German ShepherdAge: Under a yearDogs: YesCats: YesKids: YesOur pretty girl KC is ready to find her forever home! KC along with her other siblings are already over 50lbs at just 4 months old, so these pups are going to be BIG once full grown! Mama Kage weighs in at 95lbs and though we aren't too sure how much dad weighs, we know he is a shepherd as well.KC is currently living it up in foster care with her foster family and foster mom said Miss KC is already housebroken and crate trained! KC is working on her recall and leash manners and would absolutely love a home with another canine sibling she can pale around with and who can show her the ropes. Our lovely KC seems to be the shyest of the shepie kids, so another canine companion will definitely help build this little lady's confidence. KC is UTD on his vaccinations, microchipped, and will be spayed. If you are interested in KC, please fill out an application today!https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27
