Story
Keena is the best friend your dog has been looking for! Keena is a 3 year old, 75 lb German Shepherd mix who is the most perfect girl ever! We aren't sure why Keena has been in foster care for almost two years, maybe it's just the fact the black dogs tend to get overlooked by adopters quite often. But what we do know is that any family that adopts this babe is going to love her. Keena was born with megaesophagus and had surgery to correct it in has been running and playing like a normal pup ever since. She does require a raised bowl to eat soaked kibble, but that is a simple accommodation for this super sweet girl. Keena's one quirk - she gets extremely car sick and has since her foster mom picked her up. We have not yet tried meds to see if they help at all, but since her car sickness is pretty extreme we want her adopter to be aware. Keena is an absolute dream that loves other dogs and other dogs love her. She actually greets new fosters in her foster home and helps to make them feel comfortable in their new surroundings. She is gentle and loyal and every perfect mix of a German Shepherd and Lab. Keena does get uncomfortable in new situations but as long as her human is close by, she can be convinced everything will be okay. Keena doesn't do well with car rides – she gets car sick so an adopter will need to be aware of this. Keena has lived with her foster mom since she was 3 months old, so she will definitely need time to adjust to a new home when adopted – but once she does, she will be your most loyal companion. Keena is house and kennel trained and does great with dogs of all sizes and ages and even cats. Sometimes she thinks the cat wants to play, but she moves along quickly once she realizes that won’t happen. Keena doesn't live with children so we're unsure how she may be around them, due to that we'd recommend her for homes with older children who know to to respect dog friends. You can send inquiries to our director of adoptions at muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application Keena is spayed, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, heart-worm negative, and micro-chipped!

Story
Meet Mitchell – the boy with a heart of gold, ears that live their own life, and a weirdness you can only fully appreciate when you meet him! Mitchell has been in his foster home since the day he was born. He has always been a little different, and a very vocal boy – like all shepherds strive to be. Mitchell is a year and half old and 70 lbs of mostly German Shepherd and Great Pyrenees. He loves other dogs and his personality has really taken off with strangers too. He has a couple of best friend foster siblings that he enjoys playing with. Mitchell is house and kennel trained. He will need a home with a routine and patience as he works on leash training and that help him keep learning. Mitchell has a pretty standard shepherd personality. If you have experience with shepherds, you fully understand. He wants to be worried about the world, while also being a social butterfly – an interesting combination for sure! Mitchell does get nervous with new things, but as his confidence continues to grow, we know that nervousness will get less and less. He hasn't been around kids but with his easy going demeanor we don't think he would have any issues in a home with kids that know how to respect their dog friends. He was born with bad hips and had surgeries to get him all fixed up. He’s still trying to learn that his hips are fixed, so he walks a little odd, but that just goes with his personality! Mitchell is a large dog, so he will benefit from some joint supplements as he ages. He may never be a super high energy guy, but more of a couch potato, hang out with his humans kind of guy. Mitchell wants to be a house dog, a true family companion, and would do best in a lower-key home. Staying active throughout his life will help him, but he won’t ever be a marathoner! Story
Meet Kaiser! He is a 3.5 years old, 65 lb German Shepherd and ready to find his forever home! This handsome boy came to us with suspected issues with his legs. It was determined that he has a condition called osteochondrodysplasia. This is simply a growth and developmental abnormality that causes his bones to not grow to their normal size or shape. Due to both of these, Kaiser bunny hops when he walks and runs but he otherwise lives life as a normal doggo! He takes a daily pain medication that costs about $10-20 per month. He is house trained, kennel trained, and mostly leash trained. Due to his awkward gait he does have a tendency to pull a bit. He also knows the commands “sit”, “come”, and “crate”. He is a very well mannered dog! Kaiser is a medium energy pet. He is good with EVERYONE. He loves dogs, cats, and even children! He can accidentally knock over a small child so caution should be used while he is learning a new environment. He means no harm though. Kaiser is a special boy who LOVES routine. He appreciates having a crate in the same spot that never moves. He also enjoys regularly scheduled potty times but he can be flexible. He will wait patiently in his crate or by the door. He absolutely loves his toys. Benebones, jolly ball, and bark box toys are the best. He can keep himself entertained for hours. If outside, he chases butterflies to pass the time in the absence of toys. Kaiser would make a wonderful addition to any home. He is quiet, loyal, and just a funny guy to have around! You can send inquiries to muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt Kaiser at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, heartworm negative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150.
