Duke is amazing!! He was surrendered to the shelter very scared and nervous. He is now a confident dog who is ready for a new family. Duke is neutered and vaccinated. Duke needs an experienced owner since he will require some extra training. Duke has become a shelter favorite and he has so much potential. Are you willing to take the challenge?

Story
Everyone meet Ellie. Ellie has been in a foster home to decompress (shelter life is very stressful for her) and to heal from being spayed. Ellie must have a scheduled appointment in order to meet her, so please call ahead if you would like to set up a meet and greet. Ellie is going to need an active lifestyle and someone commited to putting in time for training and structure. Here is what her foster has to say: Foster dad here… so Ellie is a sweetheart. She’s been staying with my wife and I, and our foster fails. We have large and medium sized dogs and a jerk face cat. She has gotten along with everyone. She has shown no food or toy aggression, but DOES want to eat everyone else’s meal. Separation at breakfast and dinner isn’t a bad idea. We make a homemade blend of ground beef, chicken, and veggies that we add to their kibble, and Ellie could definitely benefit from some extra calories. She has a gentle mouth and for a pup with little to no training, is very good about not biting fingers off during snack time. She’s learning to catch thrown snacks. (She loves raw peanuts). She does show a little affection aggression, and we have been working at mitigating that. If Ellie is on the couch getting attention, and another dog approaches, she’ll give a little belly growl. A stern “no” usually works. We’ve gotten to the point where I can have two dog’s heads in my lap and both are giving each other licks and kisses. Ellie is playful and friendly with the other dogs and we’ve had no fur fights. Ellie had inside accidents on days 1 and 2. This was most likely my fault for not taking her out often enough or recognizing that she wasn’t quite familiar with our doggie door and that she can go out any time. Since she figured that out, no more accidents have occurred. She is starving for attention. She will lay down on the couch next to you or sleep next to you all night long. She will kiss you, and paw you, and burrow her head into your lap. As I write this, she is sleeping on the floor about two feet from me. She will follow you everywhere. I had to convince her not to take a shower with me. If we keep her around, I’ll teach her to grab another roll of toilet paper. She’s smart enough to do it. We think she’s probably a GSD/ Mal mix, and roughly a year and a half old. She is super smart, and will make an amazing companion! Just remember that she’s young, has had no apparent training or structure, but in just the few days she’s been with us, she’s made amazing progress. She will benefit from a regular schedule, routine, and consistent training.
