Meet Bowser: Your Intelligent and Loyal Companion! Name: Bowser Age: Approximately 1 year Breed: Belgian Tervuren Gender: Male Hello, future forever family! My name is Bowser, and I'm an approximately 1-year-old Belgian Tervuren with a sharp mind and a loving heart. If you're experienced with my breed and looking for a smart, loyal companion, then look no further-I'm the perfect match for you! I'm extremely intelligent and thrive on mental and physical stimulation. I learn new commands quickly and love to engage in activities that challenge my mind. From agility courses to advanced obedience training, I'm always up for an exciting new challenge. My ideal family will have experience with Belgian Tervurens and understand the dedication and effort required to keep me happy and healthy. I'm also great with kids and love spending time with my people. Whether it's playing in the yard, going for long walks, or just hanging out at home, I'm happiest when I'm with my family. My affectionate nature and loyal disposition make me a wonderful companion, and I'm always eager to be involved in family activities. While I have a lot of energy and need regular exercise, I also enjoy downtime with my loved ones. I'll happily curl up at your feet after a fun day of play and training, ready to relax and enjoy some quiet moments together. I'm looking for a family who can match my energy and intelligence, provide me with the structure and training I need, and shower me with love and attention. Story
*currently fostered in Houston Texas, available for out of state adoptions via rescue transportation. Video meet and greet available prior to commitment* This dog is a collaborative effort betweent Moka's Mission and Houston Chow Chow Connection. Mocha is a fluffy mixed pup just eager to find her new lease in life. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas just moments before being euthanized. She is believed to be around 4 years old, and based on behaviors definitely has GSD, Chow Chow, and even possibly husky mixed in her as well. Current weight around 65, 70 lbs. Upon arrival to the group, she was very reserved, uninterested in people and was more likely to growl or snap in your direction with things she was uncomfortable with. After spending time with behaviorists it was determined that she was most likely an outside dog that did not get proper attention or exercise. She also was abused in some manner as things such as brooms, vacuums, and raising sticks/newspapers resulted in fearful behaviors. Its no wonder she was in a state of survival and distrust with humans. Thankfully after spending time getting consistent exercise, positive reinforcement discipline and affection, she has blossomed into a smiling, eager to please, extremely intelligent pup who clearly has been desperate for reaching a potential that was never offered to her prior. She loves to play with toys now,( was unfamiliar with on arrival) and can be quirky, and vocal during her playful bouts. A game of tug which result in some head pats is her favorite. She also is very smart, and when given attention and motivation is quick to learn. She already knows several basic commands including sit, shake, kennel, wait, settle, and leave it. She is extremely versatile and once she trusts you, will give you her best. If you want to go hiking or exercise, she is all about it. If you want a pup to relax in the home and enjoy a movie day, she is ready! Her previous owners clearly left her unsocialized and to her own devices. This has resulted in high energy when around other dogs and an inability to socialize currently. So we do think she'd be best as an only pup. Proper continued socialization training would be required in order for us to feel confident about her being in a home with other dogs. She clearly has a desire to want to know other dogs, but hasn't had enough time and proper playmates to engage in socialization at present. We also believe she is much more focused without competition. This also applies to cats as she does has some prey drive, as is not unexpected in such breeds. Mocha is fully vetted meaning she is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and on monthly prevention for flea, tick, and heartworm. Her adoption fee and transport is dependant on services used. Story
My name is Raven! Can you guess why?! If you think it's because my beautiful black coat and tan mussel you are correct! I love to play and snuggle with my foster brother! I'm crate and potty trained, quickly learning the leash skills, just polishing them up right now. I can play independently, but would definitely enjoy a furry sibling. I'm a little shy at first in new environments and with new people. A little bit of how someone tiny like me ended up as single pup in a rescue... sadly I was found on the side of the road by my deceased mom. I was super scared, confused and skinny, but still healthy and happy after a few days of love, yummy food, and reminders from my fur foster brother that "everything is going to be okay yes, he really did tell me that! If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application below! Do note, I'm located in San Antonio, TX. My out of state adoption fee includes the transport cost and health certificate. All vetting is included to age, including vaccinations, microchip, neuter/spay and prevention meds! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NAF/Dog
