Story
This handsome pup was found wandering around a park by himself. His rescuer waited for someone to show up and when no one did, he took him home and tried to find his person for 2 weeks. When no one showed up, Cloudy became Dawg Squad's newest recruit. Cloudy is quiet and gentle. He was a bit nervous in his new foster home but is less anxious than he did when he first arrived. He hangs out with his foster friends and enjoys bird watching when he is out in the yard. Cloudy would be a great addition to any home. And did we mention he gives great hugs! His foster mom loves when he runs in from outside and gives her a hug! AND he is hypoallergenic. No shedding! To apply, please go to https://dawgsquad.org/adoption-application/

Story
Meet Valentine, the sweet and shy bundle of love looking for her forever home! Valentine is a 1-year-old Poodle x Terrier mix with a luscious curly black-and-white coat, weighing in at just 15 lbs. She’s the perfect size for snuggling and cuddles. While Valentine may be timid, quiet and fearful in new situations, her loving nature and willingness to learn shine through every day. Although she started off unsure of her new world, Valentine is quickly blossoming into a playful and affectionate girl who enjoys zooming around with her foster siblings. A home with another confident and social dog will help Valentine decompress quicker and help her feel safe in her new environment, although she’d also thrive with an adopter who’s patient and ready to guide her as the only dog. Val’s got plenty of energy, especially when she’s chasing her furry friends in the backyard! With the help of a steady routine in her foster home, she’s come so far in trusting humans and showing her true personality. Valentine is house-trained with pee pads and is working on her outdoor potty training and leash skills. She also likes sleeping in her crate. Valentine is ready to share her love with the right family who will give her the time and patience she needs to continue her journey to confidence and happiness. Please apply now!

Story
Oreo is a female Poodle mix, 11 years old and weighs 8 lbs. The previous owners took her to the shelter because they apparently could not take financial care of a ‘visually impaired’ dog. Oreo was terrified being in the shelter and missed her family and was going to be euthanized for space due to her age and limited vision. One of our volunteers rescued her shortly before this could happen. Oreo can see shadows so is not completely blind and able to get around her Foster Dad’s house without any issues. She needs a calm, quiet household where she can live out her retirement and be loved. Oreo is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. If you are interested in her, please complete the application on our website: amrdog.org. LOCAL AREA ADOPTION

Story
Presley is an 8 year old, 18 lb maltipoo! He is friendly with people and is excited to meet new people and get pet. However, he can be nippy if someone reaches out to touch him and he didn't ask for it. People need to let him come to them when he wants pets. He gets along with other dogs and loves to play with them outside of the home (dog parks, on walks, on play dates), but needs to be the only dog in the household. Also, no kids for this guy. Presley really bonds to his people but needs to learn boundaries from the beginning. He is a very sweet and cuddly dog on his terms, hes house trained, and hes good on a leash. He just needs some boundaries in the home to help curb the occasional behavior issues

Story
Princesa is a sweet and loving 12 year old Shih Tzu/Mini Poodle mix! She is very friendly with people, though seems to prefer women. She is a medium energy level. Princesa gets along with other dogs on play dates and dog parks, but would prefer to have her person all to herself when it comes to other dogs in the household. She loves to be on the couch with her person, and to just follow you around. She also loves her walks! Princesa is house trained, knows how to use a doggy door, walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. Shes a total sweetheart! She does have some minor medical issues: -she has a grade 3 of 6 heart murmur (she is not on any medications at the moment, but its something that needs to have an eye kept on it) -she had a canerous mass removed 1+ years ago. It was a kind that is local, almost never spreads, and we removed all of it. She has been fine in this regard. -She gets chronic ear infections and skin infections on her paws -She had a sensitivity to the tarter on her teeth. She just had a dental cleaning so it has cleared up, but she may need further dental cleanings in the future if the sensitivity comes back as the tarter does.

Story
LEON-URGENT-Help Needed LEON is a handsome white Poodle/Maltese, about 7 years old, 12 pounds, who we saved from the pound. He looked pretty awful but he now has been cleaned and groomed, which really perked him up. LEON has a foster home, but is awaiting surgery. Many of the pups we get from the pound have been abandoned either because they were no longer wanted or because their medical needs were too expensive and people just did not want to deal with it. Sometimes they are found wandering the streets when someone saves them and turns them in to the shelter. Even though we have rescue discounts from our wonderful vets, surgeries and special procedures and all the diagnostics are often insurmountable. LEON will need several tumors removed, that we think are not cancer, but invasive nonetheless. Like many neglected small dogs, his teeth and gums are in horrendous condition, and some extractions will probably be needed. So we are hoping for a sponsor or guardian for LEON until he is ready for adoption. For more information about LEON, please contact us at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our Paypal email address for donations and sponsorships)

Story
Andy is an 8 years “young” gorgeous poodle mix who still believes he’s a puppy. He weighs a perfect 34 pounds, is house trained, and he loves his life since his rescue. Andy was tied up outside for years with minimal shelter, and when he came to us, he had a foxtail embedded in his eye, and many inside his ears, causing a ruptured eardrum and excruciating pain. Andy has bounced back and has become the funniest and most gregarious dog. He loves riding in the car, walking in the neighborhood, and his chew toys. Andy should be with an experienced Dog person, and even though he loves other dogs on his walks, he should be the only dog due to his resource guarding. Andy would be happiest if he had his own yard, with only adult parents. He can be slow to warm up to strangers, but once he does, he’s a joy.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 27, 2025, 9:42 pm

WILLIAM-URGENT-Help Needed! WILLIAM is a lovely 7-8 year old affectionate, bright, friendly Poodle pup who has suffered neglect. He needs plenty of TLC.....and a loving home. We are also fundraising for the veterinary visit follow-up for diagnostics, surgery, dental work, and neuter. If you cannot adopt or foster, we hope you might want to offer donation support and be WILLIAM'S guardian. WILLIAM has already received grooming (see photos), bathing, vaccinations, and a general checkup by the shelter vet to assess what his needs are. He was dumped on the streets of Los Angeles when he was not wanted anymore. Once we have raised the funds for WILLIAM'S vet visit and any care he needs, he will be in better shape--and ready for a new home. We are a very small non-profit and usually in debt for veterinary bills for all of the seniors and special needs pups we rescue from the pound and the streets. Our veterinary references are available upon request. We are looking forward to finding the dog loving adoptive parent or guardian WILLIAM so greatly deserves. For more information about WILLIAM please contact us at The Nature Network Inc. at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our PayPal email address for donations and sponsorships)

Story
MR. BEAN, a Miniature Poodle boy, very sweet, about 6 years old, was rescued in very bad shape from the animal shelter, in his last hour before he was about to be euthanized. Mr. Bean will need extensive medical care and possibly surgery before he is ready to be adopted, but he is already improving. His eye is being successfully treated and medicated, and also his teeth and gums. He will need continued treatment for his eyes to improve, for low thyroid, diabetes, skin treatment and care, careful grooming to remove severe matting, gum and dental care and cleaning with possible extractions. The good news is that his lungs, heart and abdomen are fine, he has a good healthy appetite, and on a healthy diet and supplements he will greatly improve as he is not old. Mr. Bean has already been neutered, received a complete physical exam, been dewormed, and received his vaccinations and Bordetella immunization. He will also be receiving a complete blood panel, urinalysis and ultrasound for bladder and kidneys, anal exam, lab fecal, and more. To learn more about Mr. Bean please contact us at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our PayPal email address for donation and sponsorship).
