Story
*Hospice family needed.* Meet Tucker John! 12-year-old Tucker John, our sweet senior from Santa Barbara County Animal Services, is looking for a very special someone to give him the loving final chapter he deserves. He is facing Stage 2 kidney disease, a mass in his lung, and a testicular mass. He needs daily oral meds and subcutaneous fluids, but don't worry-we'll show you how it's done! Here's what Tucker's looking for in a forever home: Cozy spot: He sleeps next to the bed and needs a comfy place to rest-he can't jump on the couch and loves lounging on a bed next to our desks. Foodie help: To get him to eat, we have to pretend we're eating his food. We promise this won't involve any culinary theatrics on your part-just a bit of clever pretending. Good company: He's fantastic with kids, cats, and dogs of all sizes. Tucker currently lives in a Foster home where he is receiving the loving care he needs. We received a great first update from his Foster Mom: "Tucker had a great first day! We walked on the beach and he had MANY pup cups. Then I brought him home where he explored the yard, had his dinner, and then had his fluids. After that he got the major zoomies and ran around the yard with my dog and my neighbor's Bernadoodle puppy! This boy can MOVE! Now he's completely pooped from his big day and he's laying beside my snoring away." If you would to give this most deserving boy the gift of being his family during the time he has remaining, please reach out today and be the superhero Tucker needs! Story
Bridger is a very sweet and loving boy! He is a year and a half old. He is house and crate trained and walks well on a leash. He is great with kids and other dogs. We are rehoming Bridger due to a move. We recently moved into a new home and he is extremely unhappy in his new environment. He has also managed to escape once and we are concerned for his safety if he continues to do so. We would like to see him go to a home with a yard where he can run around and play fetch, or where he can go on multiple walks a day. He does have some mild allergies that cause him to scratch himself a lot, but having him on IAMS is helpful.

These pups are in San Diego, California too!

Story
Age: 2 years old Gender: Female Breed: Great Pyrenees mix Weight: 66 lbs Personality: Shelby is a sweet, silly girl who is the best of both worlds! She adores her humans, kids, and her pooch pack. When it’s time to turn the energy up she’s a fun, playful girl. However, once it’s time to mellow out she’s pawfectly content lounging and relaxing at home. She’s lovable and loyal through and through! Education: This sweet girl was born with a condition that led to urinary incontinence. This may have been the end of her road, but TAP could see how special she is and stepped up to rescue her. She has undergone multiple procedures with TAP and is now ready to find a family of her own! She is house and bathroom trained and wears diapers when needed to help with any dribbling. Shelby is a smart cookie who is crate-trained and does well on the leash. She adores her pack but may be hesitant or a bit vocal around new friends/unusual sounds. Once she knows the coast is clear she warms right up! Favorite Activities: Shelby’s happy place is with her family. She loves playing with her furry pals and cuddling with the kids. She adores being outside, her toys, and getting out for walks. Like any good girl, she is also a big fan of her beauty rest. Looking for: Since Shelby is such a sweetheart, she would do well in a variety of homes. She would love other pups she can play with or go out for doggy playdates. She likes to chase cats, so they probably wouldn't be the best roommates. Shelby needs a loving human who is dedicated to her long-term care. She pawmises to love you for the long haul!l Special needs: Shelby will need monitoring with an established vet for her long-term urinary care. Adoption Fee: $ 350 ##1602168##

Story
Honey-brown eyes that will melt your heart! Howdy, y’all! My name is Bean, and I’m a 2-year-old, 104-pound Great Pyrenees spayed female.  I’ve come all the way from Riverside Shelter, where I was rescued by TAP just in time before I was set to get euthanized.  I’m grateful for this second chance at life and cannot wait to live life to the fullest in my furever home! As far as my training goes, I’m completely potty-trained and leash-trained. Sits on command, working on "lay down", "stay", and "come" and working on leash reactivity. I am sweet, loving and calm girl who is friendly to every human I meet! I love physical contact- and holding your hand! I take my job of protecting the house very seriously when my humans are gone and I am on alert for any unusual noises and will bark them away. I prefer getting love from my humans over playing with toys. I am dog selective and need to be the only dog in the home.  I require a strong leader and dedicated owner who will continue my progress in leash training and working on my desensitization on seeing dogs near my territory, and redirecting my attention. I have responded to positive reinforcement training and I am going to be working on muzzle training as well to continue to be the best girl! History of a swelling and persistent mass (most likely cause is a migrating foreign body) on the caudal thigh that is resolved and healed, but will need to be monitored by established vet for any future swelling or drainage.  I love to lay around and soak up all the love and pets from my humans, but I also have a playful and adventurous side to me, too.  I prefer leisurely strolls and several shorter walks throughout the day.. I am an easy going girl, and while I’d prefer to have company and attention most of the day, I am A-OK on my own, and show no signs of separation anxiety when you leave. Please get in my cardio and exercise before leaving, and have a nice snuffle mat or food puzzle to keep me entertained while alone. My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/. ##1733844##
