Story
Hello People, My name is Vivi and I’m a sweet and quite sassy little girl of five looking for a forever home. My foster Mom says I’m very loving and affectionate -- and as feminine as they come. I’m all of 12 pounds, am housebroken (and use the doggy door) and I love my crate. I even put myself to bed at night if I’m tired (but Mom lets me come in to the Big People’s Bed in the morning for a cuddle or two or three!) Dad says I’m a diamond in the rough. He and Mom are doing their best to teach me the proper way to behave in the world. I’m definitely making progress but will need to continue my ‘learning’ with someone who is a super smart and VERY savvy dog person. If that sounds like you, please read on! While I am long on (good) looks and cute as can be, I’m also pretty willful. I like to do what I like to do (which is why I need someone who is smarter than I am and will guide me into perfect behaviors.) I walk well on a leash and am learning to relax in the car. I do best on short drives and when I can listen to music. I do love to cuddle and am known for springing up into your lap to cuddle at the slightest provocation and wanting you to pet my head ( but only my head, please!). If you are lying on the sofa, I love to roll on top of you and make cute little "snorty" noises as I turn around. Unfortunately I’m not a pup that is good around children. If you have children or grandchildren that visit I’m not the one for you. Sorry! I’m an ‘adults-only’ kind of pup. Mom says before I became a FurKid I was adopted simply because I am cute. So I formed some bad habits that she is helping me to overcome. Since I’m smart, I’m definitely learning what to do and not do. I’m also a bit selective about making friends. I bark when people come to the door (Dad says I’m a great watchdog) but when I know someone, I’m much friendlier. I also guard my toys, which is why I’m best as the only pup in the house. My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time * NO other FurKids--as I like to be the center of attention * Adults only * NO children or grandchildren * Committed to training me Experience level: *Recent dog experience a must! *Rescue dog experience a plus! *Experience with behavioral training a real plus!!! Because I wasn’t successful in my ‘past life’ I’m hoping to make up for lost time – and am looking for adopters who will appreciate my femininity and my affectionate nature – and will continue to work on my training so I can become the best little girl that I can be. Mom says there is no doubt that I’m well worth the effort but you have to know my signals so that I can be successful. If I sound like the pup you are looking for please let us know. It will be a very special home to which I am adopted as I’m a very special kind of pup. If that sounds like you, please send an email explaining your experience and background to bfkapplicants@gmail.com If you sound like you represent a fit, we will be back in touch. Tail wags and cuddles, Vivacious, Intelligent and Very Independent Vivi

Story
Hello People, My name is Charismatic and Cuddly Cody-- and I’m a handsome, dashing, adorable, happy and tail-wagging Bichon guy of 18 months. My foster mom says that I’m affectionate, playful and smart—and am in love with life and everything it has to offer. I'm grateful to be a FurKid --and I show my appreciation every day! Mom says I’m a great walker who loves cool mornings and early evenings. I like to take long walks around the lake --and love meeting people and pups along the way. Going to the dog park is also one of my most special things to do. It truly makes my day! There are always new friends to get to know and both the ones called ‘humans’ and those called ‘pups’ all fall in love with me (The two-legged ones tell Mom and Dad how amazing I am, too!) I have other things I love (drum roll please) starting with my favorite new toy, a shark! Well it is stuffed and not real but it makes a really cool sound when I wrestle with it-- and I love making it squeak. I also love car rides (of any length) and getting petted, being cuddled and all the things Bichons truly love and appreciate!!) Because I am smart, Mom has been teaching me commands (like 'sit' ‘come’ and ‘walk’) and says I learn fast and really want to please. Why I even come when she calls my name! Now, I know a lot of Bichons who don’t do that but I do! Mom says there are lots of other things I can learn too!. Do you want to teach me? I'll be the very best student you'll ever meet! My Ideal Home MUST Have: *Someone home most of the time *Another active, playful dog for me to play with *Adults or a family with kids Experience level: *Have had dogs as an adult *Recent/current dog experience a plus I’m just a very happy playful boy whose goal in life is to bring you joy and make you smile! And I do that very well! So if you have a FurKid or two, like to do lots of things and are active and enjoy walks and rides, I'm applying to be your new best friend. Please ask for me by name! Tail wags and Bichon kisses, Charming, Cuddly and Charismatic Cody

Story
Hi People! My name is Wonderful Winky and I am a sweet, cuddly, affectionate, outgoing, and sensitive boy of about one or two (years that is) who tips the scale at 14 pounds and LOVES to cuddle! Although I'm young. I'm already proving that I'm SMART — and easy to train. (Why, I already know some commands and want to learn more! And since I'm eager to please, the more you can teach me, the more I can learn. Pretty soon I'll have this thing called a 'vocabulary' that I have learned with your help!) Did I mention that I just love people? AND I also love other dogs. My foster Mom and Dad call me their shadow because I want to be with them all the time. I love following them around and watching what they are doing; I know there are all kinds of things that I can learn —and I simply want to be near them! While there are many cute things that I do to entertain them, the one that really, truly makes them smile and laugh is when I sit just like a person! Here's how that works: I put my hind legs out front, sit up really tall and straight, and stay perfectly still. In other words, I imitate them so they will think I'm a people too! Besides being a great shadow and entertainer, I love going for walks and rides in the car. I'm also masterful at snuggling and do so with them every night. I've been told that I give really good kisses and am the best cuddler (Aw, gee, thanks Mom and Dad!) I love to play with my toys and fetch them and bring them back to my house (or crate or whatever it’s called). I also really love fruit! Blueberries, strawberries, apples, bananas, pumpkin… you name it! I don’t like vegetables though because vegetables are icky! Eww!! Did I mention I like to cuddle?? Well, I DO! It’s my jam. Morning, noon, or night, if you need a cuddle buddy, look no further! I'm the guy for that job. I am not picky when it comes to dog food and even though I have a lot to learn if you want to teach me, I am already well-behaved! I enjoy going for rides and walks and sit patiently and wait for treats — and I'm housebroken. You will be happy to know that I rarely bark or am vocal (but when I do my foster parents say it is SUPER CUTE). Basically, I'm very relaxed and chill, but sometimes I do get this thing called "The Zoomies." I don’t know where it comes from but all of a sudden I get a BURST of energy and race around the house running and playing and full of this thing called "exuberance" (I don't know exactly what that means but Mom says it's a good thing!) Dad says it’s totally normal and lots of little FurKids do it so I shouldn’t be embarrassed. I'm just a really good, fun-loving bichon pup! My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time but also has an active lifestyle *Another active, playful dog around my age *Active adults or a family with kids Experience level: *Have had dogs as an adult *Recent/current dog experience a plus I really hope I can find my Forever family, as that is what I want most of all. If you adopt me, I promise to love you forever and be the best little boy you will ever meet. We can cuddle and snuggle, go for walks and rides - and I know I can make you happy because I have SO MUCH love to give. Please complete our adoption application so we can meet! Story
Hello World, My name is Darling Danny Boy --and I'm so pleased to meet you. Now, I'm not exactly an Irish lad despite me name (oh! silly me!) I'm a gorgeous little bichon pup of about two who tips the scales at not quite 9 pounds and has quite a story to share. You see, before I became a FurKid, I led a rather difficult life. I didn't get to meet people or other pups and was pretty isolated. I probably lived outside (as I was very matted and full of burrs and sticks), didn't know about toys -- or the joys of running, chasing, walking on a leash or riding in a car. Well, I'm catching up now! I have an amazing doggy foster sister who is willing to teach me lots of things and a foster Mom who takes us to the dog park every morning. When we are there I get to meet other dogs, from the big German Shepherd to the little Chihuahua. I’m always calm and friendly whenever any of the dogs approach me. And I’m good with people wanting to pet me, too. (They usually can’t resist as I’m so little and cute!) I also let the children pet me although I don’t seek them out. While I did not know any commands when I first came to my foster home, I quickly learned my name. Then, to show Mom how smart I am, I also learned a few more, namely “sit”, “paw”, and “touch”. (And another thing you might like: I can also pee on command during my walk). Did I mention that I LOVE riding in the car? I would jump in by myself if I could! I love the feel of the breeze on my face however my favorite spot is sitting calmly on my person. My human Grandma says I have the silkiest hair she has ever felt and that my new hair is coming in soft and white. She's quite pleased that I'm housebroken and wants you to know that I'm crate trained too. Best of all I have this special doggy foster sister who is a very confident and charismatic pup. She has taken me under her wing (well, more like her paw) and I'm more relaxed when she's around to show me what to do. (Thanks Ruby.) Mom says having a confident canine sister (or brother) helps me to feel more secure --and that's a very good thing. Each day I become more confident-- so my Forever Home needs to have a fluffy buddy to help me be the little guy I was always meant to be. My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time *Another active, calm and confident dog around my age *Another dog to show me the ropes *Adults or a family with older children Experience level: *Have had dogs as an adult *Recent/current dog experience a plus So if you have a kind and patient heart, a FurKid who is mellow, confident and has been waiting for a doggy brother to train, and if you like to go for walks and rides (in the car) then please ask for me 'cause I'm applying for that job. I'm a little guy with tons of promise. When you look into my beautiful brown eyes you will know that, I’m becoming the amazing pup I was born to be. Tail wags and cuddles, Darling and Devoted Danny Boy

Story
Hi People! I’m Dickens, a playful and gorgeous Bichon boy of not quite two who loves other dogs and people! I’m intelligent, loving, energetic and inquisitive -- and I want everyone to know that Life is Good! I love my foster Mom! I love car rides! I love going for walks! And guess what? I love to learn! Every day is filled with new experiences and adventures. I am a very lucky boy! Mom says that I have the most expressive face, am very smart and already housebroken (and that’s not a typo!) I have the cutest way of cocking my head when she talks to me. And I listen intensely because I want to please! While I’m still learning new things, I already respond to my name. (I actually come when anyone calls me) and am learning lots of human words like: ‘sit’, and ‘wait’. Mom says I’m friendly, happy, exuberant (I don't know exactly what that means but she says it's good) playful and never aggressive. I’m always patient and ready to undertake any new adventure. You might say I’m ready, willing and able to be your adventure partner. My BFK Aunties say I’m a ‘man sized bichon' (about 20 pounds) who likes to cuddle and give doggy kisses. They say that I'm as sweet as I am handsome! I long for the day that I can sleep in the Big People's bed and have a family of my own to share my joy and love. If that could include a doggy brother or sister to play with my life would be complete. In return, I will do my best to keep everyone smiling and feeling important and loved. (That will be easy for me because whatever family adopts me will be my whole world.) My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time *Another active, playful dog around my age *A family with kids would be great! Experience level: *Have had dogs as an adult *Recent/current dog experience a plus So if you are looking for a best friend who likes to ride, walk, play and cuddle, then look no further -- as I am the pup for the job. Please complete our adoption application so we can meet. In the meantime I’ll be learning new things and practicing how to be the bestest buddy in the world. Tail wags and bichon kisses, Dapper and Dashing Dickens

Story
Hi New Friends! My name is Bubbly and Bodacious Bodie --and I’m a lover and a keeper! I'm an adorable one year old bichon/poodle mix (some people say Bichipoo and others say Poochon), about 22 pounds full of energy and excited about life. Mom says when I look up at you with my big brown eyes you are bound to know that I love you. Dad says I’m a sweet and gentle boy who is a snugglebug, eager to please and fun to have around. I love to go on walks and rides - and am very good natured. Mom says I have a smile on my face all the time! I am affectionate guy who will follow you from room to room. I like to sit at your feet or be in your lap (and be petted, please.) Being with you and near you is important to me because I’m very interested in people! Because I’m very puppy-like I’d like to find an active couple or family. I’m a bit of a diamond in the rough but I have SO much potential! I just need someone who is active and can work with me. Mom says I can win anyone over with my charm! And you will see, very quickly, that I am very enthusiastic about life! While I'll bark to let you know something is happening, I am not a barker – just a happy pup. Mom says I’m working on being housebroken (I promise I haven’t broken anything), love my walks and LOVE people- especially the ones called children! I get excited to see and explore the big, wide wonderful world. Having a FurKid brother or sister would make my life simply perfect. My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time *Another active, playful dog around my age *Another dog to show me the ropes *Active adults or a family * A nice yard to run in would be very much appreciated! Experience level: *Have had dogs as an adult *Recent/current dog experience a plus *Puppy experience a plus! So if you are looking for a love of a guy who does great around kids of all ages, is great around other dogs and enjoys being outside in a grassy backyard, AND is sweet, gentle, affectionate and devoted, then look no further. I’ll be waiting to meet you too! Loves and snuggles, Bubbly and Blissful Bodie

Story
We got the call about an abanded family of little dogs here in Mexico. We went to the abandoned property and found a Mom and Dad in terrible shape and dead babies. Fred was a real trooper. He had to have all his fur cut off due to the matted insect infested hair and skin infections. He is now a loving funny little guy looking for love.  ##2050257##
