Story
I’m Flossie! I'm a super sweet and affectionate 7-year-old Bichon Frise, and I'm on the lookout for my forever home or temporary foster home. At just 10 pounds, I'm the perfect little companion, always ready to snuggle up and give you lots of kisses. I might be a tiny bit timid at first, but don't worry – I warm up quickly and will be your best friend in no time. I was rescued from a puppy mill, so I'm still getting used to the wonderful world outside of that place, but I can't wait to experience it all with you. I've got some exciting news – I'm scheduled for a spay soon, and I'll also be getting a dental to make sure my teeth are in perfect shape. Despite everything, I'm a happy little girl who loves to spread joy wherever I go. My gentle nature makes me great with everyone, and I promise to bring lots of love and happiness into your life. I'm really looking forward to a fresh start and can't wait to meet my new family! To Adopt (or foster-to-adopt), please complete the adoption application here: https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application To Foster, please complete the foster application here: https://anewchancear.org/foster/fostering-application/ Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
This is "Romeo". Romeo came to us with his sister, "Juliet". They are a Shih Tzu/Terrier mix. They are about 4 months old and weigh about 10 pounds. Romeo and Juliet came to us with "Milo" also, a Shih Tzu/Jack Russell Terrier mix. Romeo and Juliet might have been related to Milo because all three puppies have the breed of a Shih Tzu mix. MILO GOT ADOPTED shortly after coming to us. GREAT NEWS! NOW JULIET GOT ADOPTED! As great as the news is for Juliet, now poor little Romeo is left all by himself. He misses his sister and now he is wondering when he will be as lucky as Juliet and find his new home. Romeo is a great puppy and he is smart. He would make a great playmate for a child over 6 years old. The following is Romeo and Juliet's "story" as originally posted: The puppies' story began some weeks ago when Romeo and Juliet and Milo were brought to a pet shop in Waterbury by someone who claimed he found the three puppies in the parking lot at BJ's in Waterbury. We find that "story" questionable after contacting the store manager at BJ's who checked the store's security cameras and also asked the employees if anyone saw 3 puppies running around the parking lot. There were no sightings of the puppies on the cameras or by any of the employees. We suspect this person was the owner and did not want the puppies any longer. The question that remains is where the mommy is to these puppies. We are sure she will have more puppies in the future. About Romeo and Juliet, they are very cute and they are very nice puppies. But, puppies are puppies especially when the 2 are together! Once Romeo and Juliet are placed individually, they will be even smarter, they will be even greater and they will be even more loving. They love to cuddle on your lap! Romeo and Juliet are truly wonderful dogs. We just cannot say enough about them. They are 2 very special dogs. They will be smaller dogs when they grow up. In their new homes, they would have a lot of fun with children who are 6 years old or older. You must own your own home. No condos. No apartments. Romeo got neutered, he got his last shot which is his third shot and he got his rabies shot. So, our boy is all set for a year. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name. We will not place any animal without a veterinarian reference. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is a history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets. Please do not contact us if you cannot abide by our adoption rules. The adoption fee for Romeo is $425.00. No credit cards. If you are interested in Romeo, please email us at feline55keeper@gmail.com. You can meet Romeo on Saturday at Petco located at 201 Union Street in Waterbury during our adoption hours from 12:00 to 3:00. Romeo will be waiting for you! IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE STRESS THAT IN ORDER TO ADOPT FROM US, YOU MUST HAVE A VETERINARIAN REFERENCE...NO EXCEPTIONS!
