Story
Randy is an adorable cheerful little guy who loves nothing more than curling up on a lap- any lap! He’s incredibly trusting and gets along with other dogs. He walks nicely on leash and is making great progress with house  training, as he spent much of his life living outdoors. At 8 yrs old (best estimate) Randy doesn’t act his age and still has plenty of energy and affection to share. He’s ready to find a loving forever home where he can feel safe and cherished.  Good with Cats  Adoption fee: $375Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 3, 2025, 3:05 pm

Story
Mark is our 6-year old, 13lb Bichon Frise, rescued from a puppy mill in Busan and now in NYCMark is a true charmer! This playful pup loves to dance on his hind legs when he spots a tasty treat and enjoys the simple pleasures of life, like snuggling up close to his foster family. He’s a quick learner and has been adapting beautifully to his indoor life. Mark recently showed a burst of confidence, exploring the yard on his own and even making friends with the neighborhood kids! Story
Meet Petunia! Petunia is a 20-pound Bichon mix from Tijuana, Mexico, and she is looking for her forever home! Petunia is an outdoor-loving, affection-seeking, curious little girl. She is obsessed with her reflection and stops to say hello every time she passes a mirror. She is admittedly more interested in people than dogs but is excited to meet new friends of all kinds (including cats!) She is very respectful of everyone’s space and is an excellent listener. She responds to her name and your voice when called, even when she’s being mischievous. Petunia is a PRO at behaving well outside. Cars twice her size? No fear. Cyclone-level winds? No fear. A loose piece of newspaper blowing in the wind? Suspicious. Conspiracy. She does get the twisties on walks where she switches sides, but other than that, she does well! Petunia hasn’t been here long but is doing great with potty training. Her new home will have to continue working with her on this! She is also working on crate training. She has a bit of separation anxiety at first but will self-soothe with time. We haven’t figured out her favorite toy yet because she mostly wants scratches and cuddles, but she enjoys flavored bone chew toys and stole a cat toy from her foster brother. Never far from your side, Petunia wants to be part of a duo and is always ready for an adventure. She is still a bit of an anxious girl as she settles into her new NYC life, but we’re sure she’ll open up once she finds her forever home. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  To apply to adopt Petunia, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2333419##

Story
✅️Currently located in South Korea✅️ Meet QQ❤️ QQ was rescued from an illegal breeding facility in South Korea, where she lived in a cramped cage with accumulated waste and fur beneath, making standing painful and emitting strong ammonia fumes. She is now adapting to everyday life and is expected to become healthier and happier soon! * Interaction with People: Loves people a lot but initially fears strangers, especially men. Takes time to warm up, but once getting comfortable, she follows around, wags her tail, and likes to be by your side. She gives lots of kisses as a way of saying I love you! * Interaction with Dogs: Shows little interest in other dogs and enjoys spending time alone. Feels uncomfortable with overly aggressive doggy friends! Tends to display her emotion by look to familiar dogs. * Interaction with Cats: Is indifferent to cats and passes by them without much interest. * Separation Anxiety: Has Minimal separation anxiety. Scratches the door when the dog he lives with goes out, but she sleeps and does well alone when the family is out. * Potty Training: Prefers to use indoor potty and is proficient with using pads. Occasionally confuses blankets with her potty spot but is getting training. Does well with outdoor potty during walks. * Hygiene: Cooperates well during baths. Nail trimming can be frightening and cause some fuss, but she stays calm. Is also good with brushing and drying. Feels uncomfortable with scissors on her face. * Walking: Enjoys slow walks, but tends to pull the leash in the direction she wants to go. * Car Sickness: Travels well in the car without any signs of motion sickness. * Is very gentle with no biting, even when touched or petted by strangers. * May bark softly when guests come into the house. * Is afraid of sudden sounds or movements and isn't used to being picked up or put on your lap. * Has allergies and is on an allergy diet. ** Health Status ** - Scaling done, two teeth extracted - Due to periodontitis, her gums have receded, causing instability in her teeth. This prevents her from eating hard food, and she needs to be fed with soft kibble and snacks. - Has an eye injury but no vision impairment. 💙 Foster's Instagram: @co7mo3

Story
Hi, I’m Martha! I’m a 5-year-old, 10-pound Bichon with a an incredibly sweet nature. I may be a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, my gentle personality shines through. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy their company. I’ll need a patient adopter who understands that I need time to build trust. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy their company. I also love exploring new spaces (even if I still need some help with house training—oops!), and I’m always curious about my surroundings. I was a perfect angel for my bath, and while I may be a bit reserved at first, I promise I have so much love to give. A calm, understanding home without young kids would be best for me as I continue to gain confidence. If you’re looking for a sweet, curious little companion who just needs a bit of patience and love, I might be the perfect match for you! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.
