All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. July 15, 2024, 2:33 am

Beautiful Bella is 2 years old.  She weighs about 10 lbs.  This little beauty is the sweetest thing ever.  She does not meet a stranger 2 or 4 legs.  Bella would love a forever home with someone who works from home or who could take her to work with them.  Bella loves the interaction with people and would be lonely left home alone.  Bella is a very social girl.  She is definitely the Belle-a of the Ball.  Eyes turn when this sweetheart walks by.  Bella will trot happily along with you on walks.  If you want to meet neighbors you don't know just take this girl on a walk.  Your popularity will surely increase.  Bella is sweet as can be and would make a great addition to the right home.  Bella would be best with children at least 7 or 8 who know how to interact with a small dog.  Please consider grooming costs before you apply for Bella.  Bichon's MUST be groomed regularly.  Bella has been spayed and is current on all her shots.  She is also heartworm negative, on mothly preventative and microchipped.  To be considered for Bella's forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Bella is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)July 14, 2024, 9:01 pm

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Ellie Pup TibbsDate into Rescue: 4/19/2024 Reason for being in rescue: owner surrender Foster location: Foster Home in Rocky Mount, NC Special Needs? Tibbs is up to date on vaccines for his age. Tibbs is too young to be neutered. He will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum that requires you to neuter him within 9 months at your cost and provide evidence of neuter. We were told that Tibbs dad is a bichon. His mom Ellie is a small, 6-lb girl that appears to be a bichon / poodle / powder puff chinese crested mix. Tibbs's breed mix is a bit of mystery; we know he is small and fluffy. Weight: 4.10 lbs and growing - based on his current weight, he is estimated between 15-20 lbs when full grown Height: 6 inches and growing - based on his current height, he is estimated between 12-14 inches when full grown Spayed/Neutered: No Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Tibbs is a very young dog looking for an experienced owner with the time required to properly raise and socialize a puppy. He requires a home with another young, active dog in the home for play and socialization. Tibbs is very small. He will not be placed in a home with large dogs - it simply is not safe for him. He requires a home that can offer him consistency and routine, and where someone is home more than they are away. Our ideal puppy owners have someone in the home that is home during the day (work from home, stay at home parent, active retiree). Due to his size, Tibbs will not be placed in a home with children under 8. Puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Puppies are generally very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can!  What is my personality like? Tibbs is a young, happy puppy. He and his siblings were born into a home with far too many dogs. The entire litter arrived in rescue when they were 3 weeks old. He has been raised in a loving foster home. PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc) How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Tibbs's estimated birthday is March 27, 2024 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. July 15, 2024, 10:18 am

Alaina is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Alaina is extremely shy. Weight: 10 lbs Height: 9 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $329 Fence needed? Yes - Alaina should be considered a very high flight risk.  She will only be adopted to a home with a secure 3' or higher physical fence.   What kind of home would be best for me? Alaina is a beautiful nine-year-old Bichon Frise who is looking for her first forever home. She needs an adopter who can provide her with all the love and caring she has never received as she is a breeder release. Being a breeder release she has never known the caring touch of a loving human. She will need a special adopter who has an inexhaustible amount of time, patience, and love to allow Alaina to become a dog and the beloved pet we all know she can be. We do our best here to love on her, but she needs her own human to be home with her all, or nearly all day, providing her the love, affection and training she needs. Alaina is an indoor dog only. A home with another dog is a must. Alaina needs another dog to follow and learn from.  Being by herself without a canine buddy would throw her into chaos.  With a confident buddy, she will not only learn from you but your dog as well on how to become a dog a loving life-long companion. Alaina is also considered a high flight risk. She will only be adopted to a home with a secure 3' or higher physical fence.  What is my personality like? Alaina was born on a farm in Ohio. She has never lived in a home and would like to learn how to be a pet. When our site mentions breeder release, we want our adopters and supporters to know that this dog will require extra care transitioning to your home. Please know this is a rehabilitation process for the dog. It is a commitment to showing the dog how to be social, build trust, house training, and social anxiety. Many people use these phrases to describe the rehabilitation process as watching a dog 'blooming' or 'coming out of their shell'. It is a highly rewarding process for you and the dog.  Alaina picks her people and she loves her current caregiver. For new people, when you spend time with her you can see that she is desperately trying to overcome her fears as she longs for a loving relationship. On first meeting she will shy away from you. After a few minutes there's a good chance she will approach but keep her distance. As she's doing this you can't help not noticing her tiny butt wiggling as her tail wags.  For her main caregiver, she will go to her and be picked up.  She does not want to be chased and picked up but she comes to her caregiver to go into her crate at night time.  She loves playing with other dogs and will change the whole mood with other dogs with her happy go lucky demeanor.  She is clean in her crate and loves toy footballs.  A fenced in yard is a must along with a few other dogs.  she would be very happy as a member of a 4+ dog pack.   How do I act when I first meet new people? Alaina is extremely afraid of everything as she never felt the loving touch of a human before coming to CPR.  She is not going to come to you or even remotely pay attention to you.  You're going to have to love Alaina before she loves you.   Other tips and tidbits: Our vet estimates Alaina was born on 2/27/2015.  Alaina has not met a cat.  We think she would be just fine with them.   House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.
