Story
Pierce La'France is a cute 14-year old male Shih-Tzu/Terrier mix who was surrendered by his tearful owner on August 7, 2024 along with his companions (Lazarus & Halligan) through no fault of their own due to an unexpected housing issue. Pierce has a gray-and-white longhaired coat, a long curled tail, and a classic Shih Tzu face with dark brown eyes, a short muzzle with an upturned nose, and short floppy ears. Pierce has a very good disposition/temperament and a happy outgoing personality. He is good with children and also with other dogs. Pierce has never been around cats during his lifetime. His family told us that Pierce has 'always been a sweetie' and is overall a 'very good dog'. Pierce loves attention and especially loves to be brushed to keep his coat looking its best. Pierce has been kept indoors and was housebroken. Pierce was full of energy when HSOV Kennel Tech Cadince Bibbee accompanied him for first photos soon after his arrival on August 7, 2024 and adored the attention which Cadince bestowed upon him. We were told that Pierce has slowed down quite a bit in his 'golden retirement years', but this little guy certainly didn't have the appearance of a senior citizen during his photo session. So perhaps Pierce's motto is 'age is just a number and mine is unlisted' (smile). Pierce weighs 15.2 lbs and walked fairly well on a leash .. And he also enjoyed being carried in Cadince's arms. Pierce has already been neutered, so he could leave the shelter with his new family immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application. Pierce is traveling light and wouldn't bring a lot of baggage to load in the 'get-away car' to his new home.
