Hey there! I'm Claire, or Claire Bear as my foster mom likes to call me. I am the most beautiful 3 year old Shichon (Shitzu and Bichon). I was released by a commercial breeder with my 10 week old puppy Ivan. Ivan has been adopted and I am so excited to find my forever home! Presently, I'm being fostered with a gaggle of small dog friends, young and old, male and female. Although I get along with everyone, I most love my foster mom. I would love a home where my mom is retired or works from home. I like to sit close by and oversee things. Of course, I also like to help with the chores, like laundry; those socks are my favorite;) I am curious about everything and think I belong everywhere lol. I hear foster mom frequently calling my name and asking me what I'm doing. I absolutely love running around the yard and exploring! I travel well in the car and I'd love to run errands with my forever mom. At night, I love sleeping in the bed with foster mom but I understand that sometimes, during the day, I must be in a crate to keep me safe while foster mom can't be there with me. I take awhile to warm up to strangers but once we've built trust, I am as loyal as they come. My forever family needs to be patient with me and understand it likely won't be love at first sight. I'm more looking for that committed love where we take things slow, learn about each other and forge a strong bond that will endure a lifetime. That kind of relationship is worth waiting for. Until I know I can trust you, I will be a flight risk, and therefore foster mom says that my forever home must have a fenced in yard. A confident resident dog would help me to adjust to my forever home. I'm doing well with house-training but regression in a new environment is common. I haven't been around kids but I would think that older, respectful dog savvy kids would be kinda fun. I am around 15 pounds. I've been spayed and microchipped. I'm up to date on my shots. So now, I'm just looking for my forever! Could that be you? Story
Blanco has been a good dog for us. But he has spent his entire life in a large house with his run of a large fenced in yard. Due to medical and family concerns of our own, we are moving to an urban condominium. He is 14.5 years old and has canine senility. This makes him anxious, and he spends a lot of time wandering inside in circles panting heavily unable to relax or calm down. He is occasionally incontinent. He takes Gabapentin, Trazodone, and Melatonin. We are concerned that with his age, and health conditions, a dramatic change in environment will be too hard on him. On the other hand, we are not ready to put him down.
