Story
Finn was found on the side of the road in rural Oklahoma near Lake Tenkiller. He had deep bite wounds all over his body in different stages of healing, and he was very skinny! He also has an offset jaw that looks like the cutest underbite that the vet suspects was due to his jaw being broken at some point and not treated, it doesn’t effect his ability to eat or drink- it only makes him cuter 💚. He is rambunctious and loving despite all of this and would thrive in a home with older kids (only because he jumps and can knock a little over unknowingly) and other dogs would be great to play with. He does fine in a crate at night and is still working on manners/training. He will need patience since he is a puppy and still learning. He gives the best puppy kisses! Finn is an active dog that likes to play till it's time to snuggle. He will put himself to bed in his crate if it gets too late but also loves a good cuddle at the end of the day. He is good with other dogs his size. (Finns jaw should be mentioned because he gets nervous around bigger dogs) He has been a quick learner with commands. He still needs help with his leash skills and will nip (not bite) at hands when he wants attention. He has clearly led a hard life and is looking for his happy ending.

Story
Hi there! I'm Rosie. Don't you just love my beautiful floppy ears? I'm the sweetest and most beautiful girl-- based on my darling personality, you'd never guess how rough my life was before being rescued by BFP. I am affectionate, loving, and do amazing with all people, dogs, and even cats! If you're looking for a true best friend to snuggle or adventure with-- I'm your girl! I'll be happy as long as we're together and i trust people easily, despite my ruff start... I spent the first 8 years of my life living in a tiny, dirty cage and being denied any form of enrichment, care, or interaction. I was used as a hunting dog, and someone tattooed my ear to identify me. For years, I was known only as a number-- I never had a name or knew a caring touch. When BFP heard my story, they knew they had to help me! Now, I'm thriving at BFP's adoption center while I wait for an adopter to notice me! Could you give me the furever home I've been dreaming of? My location: NOWATA, OK *Please note that third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. My correct and current location is the one listed directly above!* *Beagle Freedom Project facilitates out-of-state adoptions, provided the adopter is able to travel to the animal's current location for pickup.* If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an adoption application at https://bfp.org/adopt/ Please email the Beagle Freedom Project Team with questions at: adopt@bfp.org. Story
Our Moose Man! This sweet and sensitive guy is in search of the perfect home where he can thrive. He prefers to be the sole dog in the household and can be protective of his loved ones. For this reason, he would do best with older children. Moose is both house trained and crate trained, making him an excellent indoor companion. He craves human company and would flourish with an owner who is frequently present. A true hound, he adores walks, relishing every opportunity to sniff around. While he enjoys a good vocal session, he is well-behaved on leash. Affectionate and playful, Moose is quick to reciprocate love. He communicates his needs effectively and is a joy to be around. He has a knack for learning commands, already mastering sit, down, and shake. Treats and affection motivate him to continue learning, and he's currently progressing well with leash training. Moose is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped, ready to find his forever home. If you have room in your heart and home for a smart and loving companion, consider meeting Moose today! Please submit an online application to begin the process.

Story
Every now and then I see a hound in need that just breaks my heart. Wrecks me to pieces. And that is exactly what happened when I saw Beaver. You see, Beaver was taken in as a stray at a shelter in South Carolina. He was SO scared that he would barely walk. Beaver was most likely purchased or bred to be a hunting dog, but when he didn't make the cut he was discarded like trash. And dumped hunting dogs end up in kill shelters, and many don't make it out alive. When an East Coast rescue reached out to us about Beaver, he had one day left before it was his turn on the euthaniasia list. We had to act fast if we were going to save his life. And that is precisely what we did. With their help, we were able to pull Beaver from the shelter, and put him into boarding until we could work out transport logistics. Beaver spent the last 25 days in boarding, which is not cheap, and we are paying a $600 transport fee to get him here, but I am happy to say that he is currently on his way to Tulsa and will be arriving around 8am tomorrow morning. We are looking forward to getting him here and being able to work with him on his fear and help him gain the confidence he needs to be a great pet! He tested perfectly with other dogs, and has already made a little bit of progress on his fear. Beaver is scheduled to be neutered on Wednesday, then he needs a foster home to go to! We provide all of his supplies and vet care, you pay nothing! All you have to do is open your home and your heart to this sweet boy, and help show him that this is the beginning of the rest of his life! If you can help, even temporarily, please reach out!
