COURTESY LISTINGLooking for a furry friend who embodies the spirit of adventure? Meet Melody, the adorable and spirited Transylvanian Hound (or maybe a Black and Tan Coonhound) looking for her forever home! At 3 years old and 60 lbs, Melody is bursting with energy, intelligence, and love. She's searching for a family who understands hound traits and can provide her with the active and engaging lifestyle she craves. Melody is a clever girl who loves playing games, especially searching for hidden toys. She already knows the command "sit" and will impress you with her obedience. When it's time to unwind, she's happy to relax with her plush toy trying to find the squeaker and keeping herself entertained. Melody is a great companion for outdoor adventures and long walks. She adores being outside and will accompany you on every exploration. While she enjoys her high-energy activities, she can also settle down and cuddle up, ready for some quality time on the couch. Melody has great house manners and is house trained and crate trained. She sleeps soundly in her crate, making bedtime a breeze. Car rides are a joy for her, and she'll eagerly join you. Melody is not a fan of cats due to her prey drive and would probably do best as the only pet in her home. She loves children and is friendly with strangers, showing her affectionate nature to everyone she meets. Like most hounds, Melody is strong on the leash. She requires an owner who can handle her strength and provide the guidance she needs. She's ready to bring her zest for life and infectious happiness into your home. Don't miss out on the opportunity to share your adventures with this special hound dog, Miss Melody! Apply to adopt today. This dog is a courtesy listing (not in the AARF program) but we will be reviewing applications and helping the owner find the right home for Melody. Please visit http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/ to apply.  Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. August 17, 2024, 11:52 pm

Story
Ram has had a long journey from Mississippi to Tennessee and just arrived in  Pennsylvania on April 21st. He is currently recovering from hip dysplasia surgery, and expected to have a full recovery with a great quality of life.  Despite all of these changes this 2 year old boy has not lost his calm, friendly and curious personality.  He is adjusting well to his present foster home, and loves to greet everyone as they wake up in the morning, tail wagging!  He enjoys walks around the yard and his hind legs are getting stronger every day.   Ram is the perfect companion for an individual or family that is moderately active, and enjoys the companionship of a dog.  He enjoys lots of scratches behind the ears and being around others often.  He sleeps in his bed overnight, and is crate trained for being left alone during the day.  He is up to date on all his shots and gets along with the other dog and the kids in his foster home.  Ram will be ready to be adopted starting May 4th.      August 18, 2024, 7:10 pm

Story
Meet Chaos. This sweet boy is looking for a new home. He was house trained, gets along with other dogs and walks well on a leash. We do not know what he thinks of cats. Unfortunately, his owner was no longer able to care for him and so he is looking for a new family to love. Chaos is about 4 years old and 49 pounds. Please help Chaos find the loving home he deserves. Update: Chaos had tested positive for Lyme's. He is already on a course of oral antibiotic which can be sent home with his new family for completion. Chaos is doing great and looking forward to finding his new family. Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. If they have been housebroken in the past, they will need time to acclimate to a new home routine from the shelter.
