Do you have a little extra time on your hands, and looking for a dog that needs a little extra guidance to become the best companion? Dobby is a nervous, around 3-year-old black mouth cur mix boy looking for a calm and patient family to be his forever home. Dobby is a boy who doesn't have a whole lot of confidence, so is looking for his humans to be able to guide him and help him blossom. Once he has gotten comfortable with his new humans, he would benefit hugely by attended a formal class to help build his confidence while also learning some basic skills. And maybe a trick or two, too! Dobby is looking for a home with a secure fenced yard, so he has a safe contained space to go outside while he adjusts to his new life. He is getting better about being on leash but is still very flighty and will bolt when started. He also may enjoy having a confident and easy-going dog friend to learn from and grow with. Once you've proven to be friend material, Dobby really enjoys scooting in ALMOST in your lap for some pets and butt scratches. He also has taken a liking to jerky type treats, which will help a lot when it comes to future training. When it comes to children, as far as we know Dobby has never been around kids. So would do best with dog savvy and respectful kids ages 10+, who will be able to understand his nervous nature and need for a little extra space.

Story
Sweet Jasper is a neutered reddish tan Southern Black Mouth Cur mix who is about two years old. This handsome guy is a wonderful dog with a really loving personality. He wandered up onto his foster parents’ property and was so easy to have around that they decided to foster him. He gets along great with other dogs. His foster brother is a 100 lb lab, and they provide constant entertainment as they wrestle and play. Jasper has also met neighbor dogs and has gotten along well with them.  He loves to snuggle on the couch and lay with his head on his foster Mom’s lap. Jasper has not gone to the bathroom inside, he waits to go outside, so we believe he is house trained. He walks on a leash, listens and wants to learn. Jasper is being brought up to date on all health care and will be neutered when he finds his home. He is under 35 lbs, shorter than a full bred Cur, and doesn’t bark much in the house. Jasper is a gentleman who is a joy to live with and will easily fit into his loving forever home. $75 adoption fee.   This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip.
