Story
Raj, formerly known as Rags, come to us from a local shelter on his day of euthanasia. He was helped by a team of volunteer to be saved. He is about 10 years old, 95 lbs hound mix. He is sweet and gentle and thankful for a soft place to land with his foster. Raj is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and HW-. He gets along well with dogs but should be fed separately to avoid any resource guarding. Raj sleeps well in his crate on his comfy bed and is just a generally laid back sweet ole guy. He also rides really well in cars and enjoys looking out at the scenery. Raj is sponsored by Vintage Fur Senior Dogs Inc. and his forever home will receive life-long veterinary financial aid. Allowable expenses, up to $600 per year, include pet insurance premiums or “above and beyond” costs including: veterinary treatment for acute or chronic conditions (exams, surgery, therapy), imaging, senior blood panel, dental cleaning/extractions, prescriptions and prescription diets. Please note expenses considered “typical pet costs” such as annual well exams, heartworm preventative, standard pet food or boarding are not reimbursable. You can read more at www.vintagefur.org His adoption donation is $200 and you can apply for him at apply.neshamarescue.org

Story
Oakly is a bloodhound/lab mix. He is a fantastic dog, great personality, great with kids and other dogs. There is not a mean bone in his body. We would love to keep him, but we have two dogs, 1 cat, 3 bunnies and 7 kids. He was unexpectedly brought into our home. We dont have time to properly care for him.

Story
Hello! We adopted Sherman last month from Wake County Animal Shelter. We gave him the nickname squirman, hes always wiggling around doing something! We wanted 3 dogs but we are finding trouble with renting and 3 dogs. Sherman also deserves a bit more space and time than we can offer him right now. Hes a great bud, would work perfect for a family

Story
Velma came into our home as a burst of energy and light. Her tail hasn't stopped wagging since her first car ride. She is very active and inquisitive but loves her naps and quiet time too. At least once a day she will "see herself" into the other room and grab her favorite chair for a nap. The rest of the time she is either in her window seat orthisclosetoyourface. She loves human contact. Overall she is the sweetest, most affectionate and loving dog we've ever met. She has a LOT of energy but when she naps she naps hard. She's the goodest girl. Likes: Humans: this girl wants nothing more than to be on your lap, in your face, snuggling up to you. She is easily the most affectionate dog we've ever had. Dogs: Very playful with her foster brother in the fenced in yard. She's super friendly to every dog she meets and is great in public settings. Walks: she lives for them. She's a strong girl and pulls on the leash so a harness is recommended. She has a lot of energy so daily walks or a big yard is a must. Car Rides: She loves riding shotgun and is the best co-pilot. Amazing in the car and it's a favorite pastime. People watching: she will sit in the window for hours watching cars and people walking by; she will bark if they have a dog or if they loiter too long but she's getting better. Children: she's been tested with older kids (8+) and was a face-licking bundle of joy; my only question would be younger kids as she doesn't know her own size and might knock them about. Burrowing: give this girl a pile of blankets and she will entertain herself for a long time.
