Story
*FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED* Murray is 9 years young and ready to settle into his forever home—he just needs someone to finally notice him! He’s been with DDBBR for a year and a half now, and honestly, we have no idea why. Maybe he’s just too easygoing? Too friendly? Too perfect? Murray is our go-to guy for adoption events because he’s social, friendly, and gets along with both humans and dogs. He enjoys a good play session but isn’t bouncing off the walls—those days are behind him. He’s reached the wise and chill phase of life, where he prefers relaxed strolls, comfy naps, and good company. No need for a crate—Murray is housetrained and trustworthy when left alone. He’d do best in a home without cats but could happily live with respectful kids. He’s a laidback, overlooked gem of a dog, and we’re hoping 2025 is the year someone finally gives him the home he deserves. Could that someone be you? Don’t let this easygoing guy fly under the radar any longer! 🐶💛

Story
Meet Hermey – A Survivor with a Heart of Gold Hermey has every reason not to trust humans, yet he chooses love and kindness. This gentle soul came into our care after Fluvanna SPCA discovered he had survived an old ballistic injury—he had been shot in the neck and left to suffer. On top of that, he was severely malnourished, fighting for survival on his own. Despite everything he’s been through, Hermey has held onto his sweet and forgiving nature. Today, Hermey is stable and lives a normal life with just a few adjustments. Due to his past injury, he cannot wear collars around his neck and instead uses a harness for walks. But don’t let his history fool you—Hermey is just as ready for adventure and companionship as any other pup. He’s a bit nervous in new situations and may take a moment to warm up to new people, but once he does, he’s the most affectionate snuggle bug you’ll ever meet. Hermey enjoys the company of other dogs, but he’d do best with another gentle companion. He hasn’t been officially cat-tested, but his foster does have chickens, so there’s potential for a home with cats. More than anything, Hermey deserves a family who will show him the love and security he never had before. He’s been through so much—now it’s time for his happily ever after. Could you be the one to give Hermey the safe and loving home he deserves?
