Story
A happy energetic dog. Loves to play and enjoys long walks. Very smart. Not food motivated. Love’s playing with other dogs. We’re unable to provide the life that Dex deserves. My roommate and I are moving soon and can’t bring him along. I just hope someone needs a furbaby and has lots of time to spend with him, reaches out. He deserves the world!

Story
Willow is a dog that we acquired from a family member. Willow was living with a homeless lady in a car with 3 other dogs when my family member took her in. We have an older dog and were hoping they would make a great pair. Our older dog is smaller and doesn't get along with Willow's puppy energy. Our older dog has actually declined in health because of our house guest. Willow is the sweetest dog and just wants to be around people. She is constantly seeking affection and looking for someone to play with or sit next to. She is quite the agility dog and can run for days. She can jump to impressive heights. She loves to cuddle and does really well with our children (6 months, 5 years, 15 years). She is fully house trained and spends time in her crate during the day without issues. She is easily trainable. We wanted to be able to keep her but she needs someone with more time to devote to her.

Story
Name: Jango Breed Guess: Doberman/Shepherd Mix Age: 4 years old Gender: Neutered Male Weight: Approximately 60 pounds Children: 16+ Cats: No Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Requires a Fenced in Yard: Yes! Adoption fee: $300 Hi, I'm Jango! I'm a sweet and affectionate boy who loves to give hugs and be close to my people. I'm also pretty smart - I know sit, lay down, stay and wait, and I even help put my own collar on! I'm leashed trained and will sit by the door when I need to go outside. My favorite things to do are playing tug-of-war, fetching my toys, and running around to burn off some energy. I'd do best in a home with adults who are ready for a fun & active dog who is ready to learn and please. I've been at the ARP since 3/8/25 and am currently at the shelter. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
