Story

Duke is a fun-loving thick guy with a tail like a whip! Duke is very strong and has bursts of high energy during play. He loves to chew, and tug-o-war is his favorite game! He loves to chase (and destroy) tennis balls, and has a high drive to chase in general. Duke does well with other friendly dogs, especially given the opportunity to do a slow introduction. He has an intense energy while playing, but absolutely loves it. For the right dog he would make a great companion. However, Duke is also happy to be the only dog in a home. He loves to share the bed with his people, and will always let you know if there is a stranger at the gate or someone at the door! He's a great alert dog. He enjoys sunbathing and snacks, and does very well when getting his nails dremmels and trimmed. Duke has opened up to new people significantly since arriving with us, and is crate trained. He responds well to correction from both humans and other dogs. He does NOT do well with cats! Duke is stronger than he thinks, and will sometimes run into things and trip overhimself. It's funny most of the time, but he can be a bit of a bull in a china cabinet lol. Duke could use some work on leash training, but is house broken and doesn't get into many things he shouldn't as long as he has his toys to play with. :). Meet Costello! He is a 2 year old handsome Blue Lacy/Terrier mix (We did his DNA!) weighing 46 pounds. He is house & leash trained. Good with kids and dog friendly cats and dogs. He loves keeping his foster mom company in her home office, playing with stuffed toys and running around in the back yard. He loves to RUN and round make an excellent running partner but walking is just fine, too! Costello will be happiest in a loving home with a fenced yard, another confident playful dog (not required) and an owner who is home more than not and who will spend time taking him on walks. Young female who we have fostered for approximately 1 month. We believe she was dumped. She has a sweet nature. Smart and eager to learn. Needs someone who can provide daily exercise/play/job. Not spayed but has appointment with TCAP in September for spay. Need to rehome as we are older and do not have the time/energy for a young dog who needs lots of activity. She spends most of her day outdoors in a fenced yard with other dogs, small and large. Does not bark. Sleeps indoors at night in a crate comfortably.

Ruby is a 10 month old, 30 lb Blue Heeler mix, maybe with Border Collie or some type of Hound because she is very vocal, especially when she plays. Ruby has gorgeous amber eyes, and brindle markings. Foster mom says that Ruby is really good for being a puppy still! She is very smart and very food motivated, so she is easily treat trained. She knows "sit" and "lay" and occasionally will "shake paws." Ruby loves toy puzzles and the challenge of searching for and discovering her treat! She also likes to play with other dogs and toys and can entertain herself. "Chuck-it Ball" fetch is her favorite game, and she's good at it! Ruby loves to snuggle, but she can be a little possessive with the people she bonds with. Her fosters are training her to correct that behavior and to assure her there is plenty of love to go around! Peep is a 4 month old, 24 lb Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix. We think his dad may have been a German Shepherd mix due to his handsome looks and the way he presents himself. Peep is a playful, smart, curious, cuddly, tail-wagging puppy. He gets along with all of his littermates as well as the resident dogs in his foster home. Like all puppies, he will need some training, supervision, good sturdy toys, and lots of cuddles and attention.
